They adjusted the forecast for ps3 sales (2011 march) down by a full million :( Not sure why they claimed to be on track to meet their 15mil forecast??

Those numbers are for the 3rd quarter...with ww totals for 2010 and a forecasted total for 2011 (since sony's financial year ends in march).

However based off that we can get a calendar year of sales for ps3 if we take the 4th quarter sales from 2010.

So that will be 2.1 + 1.8 + 3.7 + 6.5 = 14.1 WW ps3 sales for year 2011 (jan -dec).

Hope that clears things up :(

• Operating Loss --> $1.18 billion
• Net Loss --> $2.04 billion
• PS3 HW/SW --> 6.5m / 66.2m (62.0m/568.1m LTD)
• PSP HW/SW --> 2.4m / 11.4m
• PS2 HW/SW --> 0.9m / 2.5m
• PS3 forecast sales dropped from 15m to 14m for FY2011

So XBOX won?

PS3 HW: 60,321,223 (~1.7 million on shelves)
PS3 SW: 504,380,102 (~63.7 million on shelves)

The lifetome shipment figures for PSP and PS2 is not known.

One question regarding these massive loss reports from Japanese companies: Are they really losing this amount of money or does just look that way when they count (not actually convert) all the foreign revenue to yet?  Their foreign revenue is counted as yen just for these reports right?
