If he had anything to do with the first 2 years of the PS3, Vita, or Xperia play then all I can say... WTF!

Oh you'd be surprised. CEO's tend to be like football managers in that regard. No matter how woeful they are or how many times they get their company/team "relegated", they always seem to pick up another gig somewhere.
I wish him good luck - he's going to need it.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Is there something wrong with the Vita that I'm not aware of? |
of course, it carries the playstation name and rol only has eyes for nintendo.
Quick words of advice fire your entire North American marketing dept/office and hire some new people. Sony's marketing for games and system have been either non existant or horrible. Kevin Butler only makes sense to gamers a larger audience doesnt get his sarcasm. R3 sharpshooter commercial awful. Vita ads are.... oh yea they dont exist.

Stringer was brought in because Sony was struggling... it isnt struggling because Stringer was brought in. He presided over a golden era for Sony Corp in the US from 1997 to 2005 before moving to oversee the whole Corp. The old guard, including clueless Ken, are the reason why Sony is where it is. The guy has a pedigree in business.... some things just take time or are a lost cause. Stringer has been a fall guy for a lot of the previous mistakes and has at least slimmed down the bloated mess that was in situ previously. People who see Kaz as a knight in shining armout really need to get a reality check. |
Thanks for the clarification. Ya there are a couple here that think Kaz is gonna rise Sony to dominance again, guess time will tell.
I remember reading somewhere that Stringer was surprised to find he didn't really have control of the company. Various division heads (like Kaz?) would make executive decisions without really informing him or getting his feedback. It would be impossible for a CEO to formulate a coherent strategy with a lordling culture like that.
So I wonder if Kaz is really going to be able to herd these cats. Maybe it takes a cat to herd one?
