Forums - Sony - Sony names Kaz new President and CEO

He seemed capable enough of cleaning up Kutaragi's messes in the PS division, so perhaps he'll be good at fixing Stringer's as well

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Why does she need a Sony Bravia TV in the kitchen?

You just do not argue with the person cooking for you. Surprise food is not funny.

It seems like every week that he gets promoted

Lol its the same as the last promotion, except Sony was denying it before - reinforcing the fact that a sony denial is actually a confirmation.

While I'm sure Sony fans will disagree, this seems like a huge mistake ...

Sony really needs to change the culture of the company because their vision of what it means to be a premium product highly advanced technical product is really stuck in the mind-set of the 1980s and 1990s; and their strategy of "hurting" sales/profits in one division to drive sales in another is only hurting all divisions at this point in time.

Sony needs someone who has a drastically different vision for the company, and I don't think that is going to come from anyone who is currently an executive at Sony.

Considering that Vita is the most conservative console from Sony since PS1 in terms of hardware and it was made under Kaz command maybe he will bring the change to the company.  Do not judge him yet.

Logically, Kaz is responsible for the PS Vita's design. This doesn't bode well for Sony.

Is there something wrong with the Vita that I'm not aware of?

It'll be interesting to see where Sony goes from here. Stringer was given the CEO position when Sony had practically monopolized the console industry and now look at them.

Good decision. They hire once again internally which means no no new ideas are coming in which means they're going to be stuck in their arrogant ways. I'm glad this happen and hope this is the final push to get Sony out of business!!
