UPDATE:Sony has explained the delay of The Simpsons Arcade."Konami have contacted us this morning and informed us that The Simpsons Arcade will need to publish on February 8th to be in line with the game's release on Xbox Live Arcade and in SCEA," Sony's Ross McGrath wrote on the EU PS Blog. "Unfortunately, this is not something I have the power to change and it means you won't be able to get your hands on The Simpsons until next week - February 8th. "Believe me, I'm as disappointed as you are. The game will still be available for four weeks, so the new removal date will be March 7th, when we refresh the Plus update. No explanation for the delay was given. "Sadly, we are now unable to publish The Simpsons Arcade until next week, Wednesday 8 February, and not today as listed," reads an update on the EU PlayStation Blog. "We apologise for getting you excited about playing it too early but, rest assured, it will still be available to PS Plus members at no extra cost for a full four weeks." Sony has extended the 100 per cent discount on Back to the Future: The Game for an additional week "by way of small compensation".

Far Cry 2 is free as well, looks like a good month for PS+.

how does sony pay for the games they give away? is there a large sum given to the publisher before its put up...or does sony pay them the full rate they would get if the game was sold...or do they give them some smaller amount since the users dont actually own the games?

has sony said anything about how many subscribers they have? i assume it isnt overly huge but even so it seems like it could be expensive if they were paying out the full rate.

I can't imagine they pay too much. Either it doesn't have many members so developers are less hesistant about putting games up for free/discount, or it has so many members Sony can pay more for developers releasing games for it.

I think the idea is to try and pull in as many people as possible, and assume they will want to keep playing these "free" games, so they will continue to renew each year.

I am happy to see the Simpsons Arcade game being ported to the PSN (I hope it's a good port), and it's free for PS+ users! I was always interested in playing Far Cry 2, but never did want to pay money for it, so I guess it being free also is a big plus.

FFV free?! HOORAY!

im assuming FF5 is a port of the PS version which was kind of a bad port (trust me, I know). But f***ing simpsons??? Man I have been waiting for that for years!!! Is it a PSN exclusive, i hope not everyone should enjoy this. If it is a good port like Xmen was im going lose alot of hours of sleep

I'm really happy with this plus update. I was going to buy The Simpsons The Arcade Game, and wanted Final Fantasy V and Battle Fantasia but I didn't want to drop money on them with so many other games out there that I want to purchase. Now I get to play them for free! I'm so happy.

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

God I love Playstation Plus

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.
