They complain about portability and price, yet the Ipad which is the size of a computer screen and costs at the least 500 dollars is perfectly acceptable. lol Whats with the inconsistency? Almost everything they complain complain about the vita is the exact same problem tablets have.

Well, it shouldn't be compared to any tablets, because they are in a completely different league.

Use your head, man. Smartphones, tablets and dedicated gaming handhelds are in direct competition, because they have the same primary purpose.

I have to respectfully disagree.  While there might be some competition between these items, each will appeal to its own market that wants something specific out of what they are purchasing.  If I wanted a device for primarily gaming, I would purchase a Vita.  If I wanted a device for primarily listening to music, I would purchase an mp3 player (and potentially a touch screen one if I had further needs).  If I wanted a device for primarily internet browsing on the go, I would purchase a tablet.  If I wanted a device for primarily calling/texting, I would purchase a phone (and potentially a smartphone, if I have further wants out of said device)

In my opinion of these devices, each serves a completely different primary purpose.  While they can all satisfy a majority of the same tasks, each has its own specialty that in my opinion far outrumps what the others can offer.

they did the same thing with 3 DS cnet likes apple appearently . but i will say some of their points are a bit true.

the system is expensive when you consider it cost 280 just to buy a running vita w memory . and i don't bother with bundles that include a 3g version because i have no use for it . .

here's what Sony should have done include 8 gigs for every vita or 4 gigs . what ever. but instead they only offer a bundle w 3g versions and I do not want a useless service. I am home almost all the time there is no 3 g coverage in my area any way.

so scratch that bundle off my list I don't feel its worth the extra 20 bucks . sure i get uncharted . but i get a model i didn't want
and I'm not really sure i want uncharted right away. i may just pick somthing else when i pick mine up

and get it when i have the funds. cause 1 i need to renew xbl ,. 2 i want re revelations , 3 theres 2 blurays i want so ya not going to rush on picking the most expensive item

lady and the tramp and treasure buddies are important they are limited in supply where as uncharted is not .

so im going by priority here . and picking asphalt or somthing cheaper to go along side my vita and re revelations and memcard (lets see) some games are 30 40 . uncharted is 50 . so 30 plus 40 plus 40 plus 20= 130 is what im spending on games . so ya i think ill just get what i pick first .

then the 50 for the 2 movies . then next time i will be getting uncharted and mgs /marioparty 9 in march i have my plans set
-plus the 2 li on kings

I feel offended by your respectful answer. Must be my avatar.

Anything non Kim Possible requires respect.

LOL, the writer said "niggling". That's how you know this isn't an American review... no way in hell someone could get away with putting that in print here in the US!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I really don't think the Vita is going to sell all that well even in the West, but this review is kinda off.  The comparisons to the iPod Touch are almost humorous to me, because the same reasons why people say that the Vita is an expensive redundancy apply to the iPod Touch as well.  Why would you get that over, say, an iPhone or iPad?  No, the iPod Touch is just not all that.

the Vita may or may not sell at all in the west but it is still a poor excuse for a review. I already wrote a long comment on that though if you read a few pages back

I had hands on time with Vita today. It was awesome. It felt right in the hands, uncharted, wipeout, little deviants and modnation racers played beautifully, I messed with the camera a bit( not bad, although it's junk), the analog sticks felt weird at first but after some gameplay time, it just felt right. The buttons were a bit too small for my liking though, but I'll be able to get used to that. Beautiful touchscreen and the touchpad is a nice functionality to have.

Oh, about this review, fuck this guy. It didn't feel bulky and if you were expecting something as powerful as the vita to be the size of an ipod touch, you're delusional ( for now). Comparing the crap games you only play when you're bored as hell whilst being on the bus or whatever, to a dedicated gaming portable with games such as Uncharted, is clearly outrageous and borderline stupid. I do agree with the battery life though... I mean, although it's a dedicated gaming handheld, 4-5 hours seem too...short. And the fact that you can't switch the battery is kind of a downer, but I digress.

So to resume ;

Quality > Quantity ( although I'm sure in a few years from now Vita will have Quality in Quantity)
Hardcore gamers want buttons.

I hate CNET. Not for the Vita review (while the review is pure crap though).
