EA's SSX looks like it will be latest game in its library to have one of those pesky online passes attached to new copies. Not exactly earth-shattering news, but news nonetheless.

The folks over at Destructoid have been watching plenty of SSX videos, or at least enough to spot a little on-screen prompt that directs players to an online pass.

By now we're all fully aware of what ramifications an online pass has, but for those scratching their heads the long and short of it all is access to online features such as multiplayer will be locked behind a code included in new copies of the game.

Those who purchase it used will likely be able to purchase an online pass separately on Xbox Live Marketplace or PlayStation Network.

"Surprised?". Not in the least.

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

Was about to say the same thing. Crysis 2 was the only recent major EA published game not to have an online pass as far I'm aware. Not sure if Kingdoms of Amalur does.
