Forums - General - I'm in the market for a 3D HDTV

4k is a pipedream at the moment.  There is zero 4K content, there won't be broadcast content on 4k in the forseeable future and Blu-Ray is not currently capable of showing it, there would need to be new BR capability on the discs and completely new Blu-Ray playback hardware too.

On top of that you wont really see a benefit with 4k unless you have a screen approachinhg 100 inches.  It will be pointless for the vast majority of consumers and for the rest will be lacking in any content for years.

I know all that. I'm not saying wait and get a 4K TV. I'm saying that with some companies pushing out 4K TVs it should push down the price of normal HDTVs. However the benefit is that 4K TVs will for seemingly an incredibly long time be really quite useless, but they should help to push down the price of other tvs a bit.

Turkish says and I'm allowed to quote that: Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 look better than Unreal Engine 4 games will or the tech demo does. Also the Naughty Dog PS3 ENGINE PLAYS better than the UE4 ENGINE.

Around the Network

I got one!  In fact, I got this one:

The set only cost me $650 on Amazon.com and I couldn't be happier! The first one came and it only worked for five minutes before it died. They sent a replacement and it gave me a lot of problems, too. After dealing with customer service, I got the set working flawlessly. Five HDMI ports, wireless internet, a ton of apps, BEAUTIFUL 3D qualiity (I had to purchase the glasses for $60), and a shit ton of other features like picture in picture, a sound system that's just as good as my soundbar on my other TV, a blue tooth remote that even wors with my PS3, and more. I went with the 42 inch model. I even have my PC connected to it--but 3D mode won't work with PC mode so no 3D porn for me.....unless I download it to my HDD and play it on my PS3.
