Tech company also release a compatible USB power unit
Japanese gamers can get their hand on a few new PlayStation Vita peripherals ahead of its global launch, according to a report on Andriasang.
The latest accessories for Sony’s handheld device are the Assist Grip and the USB Portable Power Set, both made by Datel Japan.
The Assist Grip will attach to the back of the PS Vita adding two handles, which reviewers at Impress Watch say renders the portable console like a Dual Shock controller. The Assist Grip is currently priced at ¥1,380 (approximately $20).
Also released is the USB Portable Power Set, which is used to recharge the Vita on the go without disrupting gameplay. The device’s specs are 2,000 mAH, slightly less than the Vita’s 2,210 mAH.
Additionally, the Power Set is a universal device that can be used with other products that use a USB other than the Vita. Impress Watch were also able to charge a 3DS using the Power Set. The portable powering device is set to be priced at ¥ 2980 (approximately $40).
Sony will be releasing its own portable charger accessory this spring while Datel Japan will release an unlicensed device of its own on January 31.
