Forums - Microsoft - Star Wars Kinect in April?

That VideoGame Blog

A retailer listing is pointing towards an April release for the force-fueled Star Wars Kinect.

UK retailer Argos has listed the game for that month. Given that the game was delayed out of 2011 shortly before release, it’s likely that the game will come out in this half of the year.

MCV spoke to Microsoft for a more specific date, they got this: “Kinect Star Wars is currently dated for a Spring 2012 release. We’ll have more to announce soon.”

Well, hopefully there’ll be something a little more concrete in the near future.

That would be nice, since I'm picking up the R2-D2 / LE Kinect System Bundle. I have $50 just waiting to pre-order and haven't done so because it has no release date.

:/

I also want the R2-D2 system, but as I already own 2 360's it really would be a bit overkill.

Then again, I still haven't got a Kinect... Well maybe if I have reserve cash I might just get one.

This will bring my current 360 count to two (have the Gears 3 system). I do not have a Kinect though, so to me, this is the best way to jump on board (especially since it's a whte Kinect - I'm a sucker for Limited / Special Editions)

Heh, I am too, I was going to get the Reach 360S, but I really really wanted a 360S asap, so I just went and got the normal 360S 250GB, Kinda regret it, even though it works beautifully and I love it.

Didn't know you already owned a 360

Have they announced a price for the R2-D2 360/Kinect system as far as you know?

Also: They really should not delay this into Q4, that's packed enough as it is, we need more variety like this throughout the entire year.

Ha, contrary to some belief and despite my Sony preference, I have both an original Xbox and a 360 (have had a 360 since 2005, in fact).

As for the price, yes, it will be $449.99 ($50 more expensive than other LE 360s because of the Kinect). Still a steal if you ask me, because you get the game & an LE Kinect!

+1 for CGI being extra cool. : p

Hmm, actually a pretty damn decent price for a 360S (320GB), Kinect & game...

Yup, I'm going to get one!

I think the previews and hands-on of this game are really bad?

It will bring my 360 count to 3 and my Kinect count to 2, which I'm pretty fine with since the R2D2 360 looks pretty sweet (don't care so much about the controller, hard drive, and Kinect, but my home office could at least use a Kinect I guess).

Kinect Star Wars is going to be a funny release.

The console looks wicked I must admit but how do you guys think the looming announcement of a new console will affect its sales? As well as not releasing it during the holidays?

I am really considering getting one but it might be pointless because of the above stated reasons, and it is a little bit on the pricey side seeing that it only comes with one controller.

I have lived as a warrior. I have died as a god. Having suffered the ultimate sacrifice, I have been denied release. I...I will defeat Olympus. I will have my revenge

Should do well if advertised enough

I say May. That way they can capitalize off of the whole "35th anniversary of Star Wars" thing to really boost sales.
