Forums - Nintendo - Project Cars Wii U version confirmed, NFS: Shift developer racing to Nintendo's new platform

Eurogamer

Need for Speed: Shift developer Slightly Mad Studios is developing a Wii U version of upcoming racing sim Project Cars.

The UK studio has added Nintendo's upcoming home console to the game's official website, alongside the game's already-announced PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

No release date was mentioned for the game, although the Wii U will not launch until later this year - sometime after the E3 Expo in June.

Project Cars is a community-developed game, where feedback from the game's open beta is rewarded with a share of the game's profits.

Martin Robinson went under the hood for Eurogamer in our Project Cars preview late last year.

Good to see Wii U seems to have an interesting support from third producers.

I would like to note that (IMO) one of the sentences is not entirely accurate:

"Project Cars is a community-developed game, where feedback from the game's open beta is rewarded with a share of the game's profits."

Should actually be:

"Projects Cars is a community-funded game, where you can donate funds, with a possibility of a share of the game's profits."

Very excited to see this release on consoles & WiiU though, maybe they can do some nifty things with the tablet controller!

Will make some people happy. However, the only racing game I will on on WiiU is Mario Kart.

Yay! I'll still get the PC version, but nice to know such an interesting racer is increasing its chances to become big.
And maybe all the spotlight Project CARS is getting will persuade ISI to intensify its efforts to release rFactor 2.

A hopeful note, because that seems to be the sort of game that has meticulously avoided Nintendo platforms to date.
