Wha? Not nominating Crysis 2 is crazy. Personally I still think Crysis 2 was the best of the year. Being able to pick up light sources and have them illuminate everything, cast real time shadows etc. I would put U3 and GeoW3 on the same level and KZ3 a bit below. Kinda hard to pick between them. Uncharted 3 is utterly beautiful and has the best environments and cinematic moments but doesn't quite have the scale and actual gameplay graphics of GeoW3, both have great attention to detail. Sand running off drake, Characters in gears recoiling  when bullets hit nearby. KZ3 is very impressive but I feel it's just nice looking graphics with no soul or nice design. Can't believe some sites wouldn't even nominate Crysis 2 though. However I suspect it's because a lot of the time multiplatform games (especially those leading on PC) seem to get overlooked in favour of exclusives. I mean for how average the game was RAGE looked fantastic, especially enemy animations.

Crysis 2 was the shit technically, who the hell didn't nominate it?! They deserve to be punished...

Also glad to see Prey 2 added to the nomination list, I'm really looking forward to that game!

GameTrailers, Spike and IGN out of the top of my head went all to UC3. Crysis 2 wasn't nominated on GT and Spike. BF3 PC version was nominated in GT and yet lost to UC3 and there's many many more. GameReactor Sweden claims Crysis 2 is the best looking video game on the PC but it lacks in comparison to Uncharted 3, Uncharted 2, Killzone 3, God of War 3 and Gears of War 3. I think it's no revelation that a lot of sites don't acknowledge the PC hence UC3's utter domination.

Kind of silly though, it might not have been the shining example on consoles as it is/was on pc, but it was certainly nomination list worthy I would say.

I completely agree. It should have been UC3, KZ3, Crysis 2, Gears 3 and the last one can be debated. I guess BF3 for its PC performance. But to leave out KZ3 and Crysis 2 is just bleh. Rage was nominated by quite many. I think it's remarkable how Sony manages to push out one game each year that just gives you orgasm on a visual level. I'm somewhat of a graphics whore so it's very appreciated from me xD.

I'm definitely a graphics whore, so I also appreciate it.

And yup, Rage for me definitely should have been replaced by KZ3 or Crysis 2 IMO.

Oh that is just a joke O.o;;; UC3 on consoles is better looking than BF3 on consoles. However BF3 on PC is MILES ahead of UC3. I mean it's not even close, one is on cutting edge PCs. I mean the only justification would be if we were taking style into account, but if we are doing that then there should be a load of indie games, Xbla games etc on the best looking game list but I bet there wasn't. 

Stuff like this is why I am just stopping to read all games 'journalism'. All games journalists have gone WAY overboard with the attitude of ''Oh it's just opinion'' yes in general it is but there are some things you should be reasonably objective about. 

The games bloggers are even worse, the ones who will complain they are just bloggers when held up to journalistic standards. Yet will cry they are journalists when it is advantageous. Had to stop reading joystiq due to ridiculous things like their 'review' of Nier (the reviewer somehow missed a MASSIVE red X on his map showing the objective, fished in the wrong spot then complained the game was broken) and Kotaku over their coverage of the Oean Stratagy thing. All big review sites I feel completely out of sync with their reviews. Resorted to purely watching gametrailers reviews and ignoring what they are saying lol.



Turkish says and I'm allowed to quote that: Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 look better than Unreal Engine 4 games will or the tech demo does. Also the Naughty Dog PS3 ENGINE PLAYS better than the UE4 ENGINE.

Nice twisted metal Starhawk costume. If Naughty Dog does what they did with Uncharted 3 then i would say the last of us will look the best.

Was it truly just the PC version, because if so that's a pretty strange decision imo.

Thing is.. I think they reward the developers for bringing shit out of consoles because we already know the PC can rape EVERYTHING. Imagine if I invested my whole ..investments lol on a PC, and got the absolute best experience from Crysis 2 with mods or BF3. Instead they are looking like:
Okay so game consoles.. Damn Naughty Dog is truly shitting on everyone on the PS3; and thats quite a bold claim as all other years have gone to PS3 exclusives, so in general it is actually shitting all over console gaming in general.

 

Add that with the fact that we go through a Chateu thats burning down, A fucking desert, a cruise ship and much more: It's just made to make you go "wow".

 

It's really what makes sense because nobody can say any console game looks better than the best PC game. That's just obvious. I think its so obvious that they actually don't focus on it either.. if that even makes sense xD. But yeah, ignore PC games much gaming journalists.

I can't complain though. What ND did with UC3 mind fucked me so hard I could feel the tip of ND's large thick ... ... weiner XD
