I still think its a 50/50 shot. I think our bet will be solved at E3. MS will want to limit Nintendo's alone time as much as possible and a holiday launch with a few million units in US alone, is a good choice so long as there are a few games to go along with it. However, a launch with or just ahead of PS4 in 2013 will also be fine. Just depends if MS thinks Nintendo will really capitalize on its lead.

I trust X-bit's review content, but when they publish rumour stories like this (the "Xbox Loop" name and "Windows 9" core) they are just reposting random rumour site news. S|A's Charlie-written articles are, as far as I can tell from reading his work since 2006, always based on actual, specific info he recieves. He can be wrong but he's not making things up. He's contradicted and shot down a lot of other rumours in the past.

It's like VGChartz's numbers. You kind of have to trust the person behind it is doing real work and not just correcting to leaked NPD figures or whatever.

Hmm. If MS waits too long then they might launch within the same year as PS4.

Surely they realize that headstarts are crucial in this type of business.....

On Topic: Makes sense, I wouldn't mind a new Xbox near the end of next year. Sooner the better, because I won't be buying a next-gen console till its $300 or less. 

Yeah, I agree that the sooner the better. I hope the nextbox has a bluray player, because had the 360 done so it I wouldn't need the nextbox for 2-3 years.

They won't call it the xbox 720, it's poor marketing. To the average joe they could belive it only puts out a res of 720p max.

HD 7000 series are way to expensive even in 2013... if true Microsoft really wants to be the graphics king next gen like Xbox 1 Time.

Actually, if the rumor proves true the only thing that microsoft could actually show during E3 will be pre-rendered "target videos" of the graphic power of the console and maybe Kinect 2.0, and it will be the most depressing E3 in years for the Xbox fan.

nope. They already have internal versions to the neXtBox and woudl surely have some basic games to demo. It'd be no different than when they presented the 360 a year before it launched... Same as PS3 and Wii too.

WiiU was just too boring as it didn't show enough high end games (i.e. non-wii sports type) that presented the new hardware capabilities.
