Forums - Sony - PS Vita gets Flickr app

CVG

Sony has released a PlayStation Vita app enabling users to access photo-sharing site Flickr.

Running exclusively in English, the app lets Vita owners who are Flickr account holders share their photos and post comments.

The new Vita app joins existing ones for Twitter and Japanese YouTube equivalent Nico Nico Video. Facebook, Foursquare and Skype apps for Vita are also in development, although Sony hasn't announced any release dates.

Are you picking up a Vita at launch and if so, which model are you going to plump for? Cast your eyes over our PS Vita review, if you haven't already, and don't forget the PS Vita release date is just over one short month away now.

Hmm...no real reason to get excited about "apps" for me, it's mostly for the games I'll get one for.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Hopefully the next app to join is YOUTUBE.

The only app i kind of want is Skype. Any news when that's coming?

Sony needs to bring in the games not apps, FB might help a little though since our generation is all about stalking people.

If you look at the line up..they already brought more than enough games :) only thing missing are more Japan centric games..which will come end of next year as they phase out the psp

True, but it's still not selling well. Probably because MH on the 3DS is like honey to bees for the Japanese. (Hey! That rhymed XD.)

yep like I said the issue lies mainly with three things, two of which are the most important

1. PSP is STILL very strong in Jp, lots of support, much more so than for the psv and is cheaper (tho I think psp is still more expensive than the 3ds there :S Sony must be getting some good money off of it

2. PSV lacks support as of now and is relatively more expensive

3. The direct competitior had some of its biggest games launched plus a hefty price cut.

It will do just fine as psp gets phased off..as for western game support..it's mind blowingly good at this point :)

Hopefully the next app brings The Legend of Dragoon back.

earth to Sony we need games.

sure 28  titles with the majority being ports may sound good on paper

but if I were to buy a brand new handheld-not console.

I would like to see some good games that is not ported from a HD quality console with a big hard drive . and more options

3Ds is different because well those ports were good ones . to take on the road.   call of duty is multiplayer  focused . -glad thats not on the line up for launch thats for sure.

when we are on the road. we wont have wifi ., so cod is not suitable for travlers lol   and thats when i mostly play my handhelds

and neither is any online focused game for that matter.

if thats the case . there would not be a need for a ps vita.

these are the games that interist me so far

1-asphalt ignition

2 uncharted golden abyse

3 -ridge racer

4 wipe out -question able if i should though pay full price on that one ,

plus i got killzone liberation on download and my psp mem card is full so ill be glad i can finally play that one , but ya we need some more notable non online oriented stuff . for those who travel that is one place where the 3ds is succeeding

and this should be no different but if they keep braging about their online and focusing more on ports. then i guess the only thing ill be getting is gta driver and the definates that i known from gens past .

which is somthing psp hardly had to begin with so with that said  .

games come first in my book , not just any games. games for travel not games where they focus almost all their efforts on the online portion and giving us short /easy to beat single player

cause like I said i play my handhelds on the road not at home when i have a big screen w a ps3 360 wii snes -which laugh if you want i still hook up .  n64 etc.  to many consoles with so many games i still have not beat to sit down and play at home on a plug with a tiny screen .

heck i hardly use my 3ds only time i do is the first day .  of owning a game other than that.  it sits on charger. waiting for the next trip  and since im  half an hour from places ii get most advantage then. so  with that said .

please sony give the games i want to see some ports are nice. but when you focus on nearly all ports ..  i have a problem cause  they do not cost 20 bucks a pop . i choose one version  unless its a game i really end up enjoying .   thats a different story or i find it cheap when the gen is over.  but by then online is dead any way so ya. love to see more of the gba/ds style handheld quality games they can still be based on their console counter parts but play a little differrently

there is goldeneye  which is based off the 2010 wii remake though it shares the name youll find its gameplay is different,. thus not the same goldeneye

bloodstone ds vs ps3/360 same story here

- things like that makes a big change .

but with some strieght ports where its neccesary is nice to . even things up .  dont be like psp where you support it at the start (us speaking) then let off later on
