I came in here hoping for VC numbers...

Virtual Console? Nintendo has adviced their developers (and even third parties) to keep their download numbers secret. So, sadly there's probably zero chance we'll see any of those in the near future.

Edit, found the source: http://www.icongames.com/nintendo-digital-sales-data-secrecy/

I wonder why they do that and still provide total number of hours played and numbers of hours played by each person on average.... A little math and you get a good estimate of how much they sold. Also, this is more accurate with VC and Wiiware titles since you can assume that since you need the internet to download them, then everyones(almost) numbers would be accounted for.

Wait, what? Are you connected to the internet while playing VC/Wiiware games, or does the stored gameplay history on the Wii get send in to Nintendo?

If the latter is the case, then I'm pretty sure there was an option available about whether the user wanted Nintendo to receive their gameplay data or not, in which case the total games sold estimation would be very insufficient.

Well I guess you could turn off the internet if you wanted to, but it could be connected if  you have wiiconnect 24 or whatever that is service is called. You might right that you could turn off giving info to nintendo though, I dont remember since I did it years ago. No matter what, It would still give you a minimum amount of games sold wouldnt it?

Yeah, I suppose that's good enough for a start.

Hope we get sales/download numbers as wel instead of just rankings, still a good step forward :)

The real reason for that I'm pretty sure (excluding indie games and new games) is because most if not all Virtual Console games (the NES, SNES, etc) can easily be downloaded online for the PC....I'm pretty sure the sales numbers are so bad ,they probably dont want to share them lol.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It's different with Wiiware though, I wonder how they're doing.

Sony already publish every month a TOP20 chart for US (and Japan if I'm not wrong)... now the Europe (UK)... nice.

With actual numbers?

The article says nothing about numbers... even NPD not show more number... I guest that's just a TOP10 or TOP20 like Sony do very month for US.

I miss the days on vgchartz when they tracked XBLA sales...

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

So does this mean games will get updates based on these new digital numbers. Examples being Infamous 2?

I Hate the fact that all these pillows are contaminated by retard!!

no. As far as i know vgc does not track digital sales in their info, even if they have access to it. All game sales are for hard copies only. Not sure if vgcpro releases digital sales.
