I hope it is a new Demo not the one on mercenaries I already played that demo countless times.

The Mercenaries demo was pretty awful in terms of what you were able to do. Even so, I also played it countless times which is probably more of an indicator of me not having anything better to play on the 3DS than anything else. Graphics were top notch though.

Odd thing about the new demo (which is excellent BTW) is that it looks like it has a preset number of times it can be played (30). I'm assuming after that it just becomes dead space on your SD card.

Weird. I can't think of any other platform that restricted the number of plays for demos.

Yeah it doesn't really make since. Maybe they don't want you to spoil it? XD

Either that or they just want you to buy the game, which is more or less the point of any demo.

Regardless, I felt that the demo was good enough and just long enough to give the player a solid sample of what to expect while leaving them wanting more.

Well, I know a few X360 demos that can only be played online for 30 min, some of which where online-only. Did you count them?

Those are more like one play demos, but yeah; those would count.

PSN Plus has this weird thing where you can download full games and play them for 60 minutes as well. Not demos; the actual game, which is then locked after 60 minutes. Different.

Different indeed. Seems sweet...

One thing about demos--when I plan on buying a game, I tend to avoid them. I don't like the feeling that all of my hard work is in vain. I like to experience the game fresh. That's why I didn't finish the Asura's Wrath demo and why I didn't bother to download the Final Fantasy XIII-2 demo.

I'll give the RE:R demo a shot just to see how the game is going to look but I already know the real game is a day one buy. I won't play it too in-depth.

We're you planning on buying FF XIII-2?

I've tried repeatedly to play through FF XIII and it's just like eating this giant platter full of food that I really don't want to eat.

But the demo for FF XIII-2 had more variety in the hour or so that it ran than the 15 hours I could barely stomach of playing FF XIII. They did a pretty decent job of addressing a lot of the player gripes while adding a lot of new game play elements to keep the game interesting and new.

Oh, I finished FF XIII and I thought it was pretty good.  Had some HUGE flaws that kept me from loving it, though.  As for FF XIII-2, I already know I'm going to buy it on day one (got a $100 Wal-Mart gift card I've been dying to cash in!) so the demo would just spoil the game for me.  Same as this RE demo.  I plan to buy the game the day it comes out.  I got to the smog filled kitchen in the demo and turned it off.  It's every bit as good as I'd hoped!

Now, if it's a game I'm on the fence about, a demo will help me make up my mind.  The demo stopped me from buying Vanquish until almost a year later.  Then again, a demo made Bayonetta a day one purchase.  I also decided that Asura's Wrath is going to be a day one buy for me based solely on the demo.

Which reminds me.  I gotta finish Skyward Sword before Tuesday!!

*logs off*

So yeah... RE:R scared me... like a lot XD

Graphics are pretty amazing especially for a first generation 3ds game. I will most likely play with control style C if I don't get the add-on. Type A really sucks since you can't move while aiming didn't bother to try B. I don't think there will ever be a game that I could use the gyro scope as a permanent control scheme for aiming. Day one definitely.

I agree the textures, lighting affects, and polygons are all plentiful and make it look and play really good. Thats possibly why I'm scared of it XD

i was in the toilet playing the game and boy was it it easy to shit!

joking aside i did jump when the things dropped down on me and then i had to stop as i had to do some other stuff.

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Is it good or bad that the game scares you?

Either way though, Dead Space 1 would probably make you die xD

Anyone else concerned about Nintendo's lack of future-proofing its consoles? The Wii is a perfect example.
This eShop is another example of how Nintendo seems to not think about the future. Who launches a device without a major feature like an online store?

I hope I get impressed at E3. I am really looking forward to Wii U but if I see Nintendo slacking I might pass. Online services need to be announced!

I was just wondering what you meant by this.  I am pretty sure the 3DS and Wii both launched with shop channels.  I am not 100% since I didn't buy the systems at launch but I am pretty sure the shops were there from the start. (edit nvm I was informed it was added in June for the 3DS through update) Did you mean feature like downloading demos?
