The same reason he won't put other franchises which hack and slash from PS3/360 it makes the picking of those cherries so much harder to get.
Former something....

Dudes, don't get so emotional, i'll update the thread title to: God of War this gen sold almost as many as all other Hack n Slash on PS3/360 combined

It didn't even come close, though.
To use KylieDog's example:
The Force Unleashed/The Force Unleashed II on PS3/360: 6.3 million
God of War games on PS3 (including re-releases and handheld ports): 7.16 million
Not nearly as impressive as it looked in the OP, but at least one of Sony's more successful franchises, which can't be said about others (Killzone, Resistance, Infamous, Socom, LBP, Motorstorm are all on a decline, MAG and Modnation Racers were sales disappointments).

I hope Sony drops Socom, Motorstorm and Resistance franchises for next gen and only keeps Killzone and LBP, these 2 franchises have so many potential!
They have so many games right now they dont know wich one to advertise properly lol, in the beginning of this gen everybody was saying "ps3 haz no gaemz" then Sony went in overdrive mode and released tons of games. Hope they go for less but with bigger marketing.

...So basically Turkish you changed the thread title from an utterly ludicrous lie to a ludicrous lie. I already showed you that simply DMC, Bayonetta and NG outsold God of War this generation. If we threw in Star wars, Heavenly sword etc then they would wipe the floor with it.
No More Heroes (1+2) needs to be added in as well, though it wouldn't change the balance that much

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

You totally missed the point of my post by the way. It was more of a mock at the topic for forgetting Dynasty Warriors. |
I humbly apologise then :)

Yes, I think it's clear by now that they created two franchises last gen and this gen which could be said to have mass appeal: God of War and Uncharted. Still not Gran Turismo level, but not bad either.
Also, from an outsisde view (and my view is from the outside when it comes to Sony's 1st party franchises even though I own a PS3 - I bought the system mainly for other exclusives like Flower/Journey/Ico&SotC/Valkyria Chronicles/Yakuza):
Sony creates/maintains too many shooter franchises (Killzone/Resistance/MAG/Socom), sales figures show Infamous was not needed (Uncharted is enough), Modnation Racers was not really wanted, Motorstorm not needed or wanted despite the initial success (probably the sharpest decline of a franchise).

Heck no, just drop Socom. Keep the others. |
They should drop Resistance as well IMO, I think Sony's resources could be put to better use with franchises that will perform better.
