The 3DS would outlast the Vita by a much larger margin at maximum settings.
Vita dies at like 2 hours. Still get about 4 hours from 3DS.
I get like 5 hour 30 min. out of my 3DS. :)
So some tests say Vitas has longer battery life and some say that 3DS has. Puzzling.

Why not do a real battery test with everything turned up? That's how I play and its a much more accurate test.
The 3DS's main selling point was that it provided glasses-free 3D. I'm sure the 3DS can muster a decent battery life with the 3D turned off, but that's an unfair comparison.
Both systems have pitiful battery life anyways. Give me the Gameboy Color wih two AA batteries any day.

It's great to have the option to crank up the brightness and not feel paranoid about the battery draining.
