GT5 Academy Edition Bonus Competition Announced

When Sony announced the GT5 Academy Edition at the end of July, they advised us that “there is more news yet to come on this title”. True to their word, a surprising suite of bonus content has been announced in the last few minutes.

Firstly, those who purchase the Academy Edition will receive a 25% discount voucher for the online “Gran Turismo Boutique” store – selling a range of Gran Turismo branded clothing.

More significantly, there is an exclusive competition available to Academy Edition buyers. An in-game challenge to be run through January 2013 gives the six fastest gamers from eligible territories (see the official site for details) the chance to meet up at Silverstone in March 2013 for a range “of GT Academy-inspired challenges”.

If you’re not a resident of those territories, or are unable to buy a copy of the game, there is an additional “wild card” GT5 Academy challenge at the Nissan stand of the Paris Motorshow (29th September – 14th October 2012).

The winner of the Silverstone event – and a friend – will receive a spectacular prize of an all-expenses paid trip to the 2013 24 Heures du Mans on the 22nd and 23rd of June.

These bonuses come in addition to up-to-date game software and the DLC tracks and cars (and paint and racing gear!) released to date.

GT5 Academy Edition will be released in PAL territories on 26th September 2012, at an RRP of €29.99/£19.99.

I think all the updates are updated (lol) now... I need to do the same with the Seasonal Events and DLCs... soon.

Do new discs of this game come fully patched?

I might get GT5 someday but I'd like to skip downloading a week worth of patches. :D

In the Game Editon section in OP I listed all the edition and the patch version included.

The latest edition is the Academy for Europe with the 2.07 patch included... so you need to download the patches after until 2.11.
