Netflix just launched in the UK/Ireland and my question is about the content. The selection really isnt that great, with only 1 or 2 things I would watch...

Is this the same the same in the US or do you get a greater libery of movies and TV shows?

Do the US get bigger name movies like Lord of the rings, Pirates of the caribbean ect...

 

I ask because its 6.99 a month, and right now it doesnt seem like its worth it.

yes, there is a ton of stuff. Give it time they will get more. I would wait 3-6 months after they launch it and than check it out again. They will only get more stuff

Its mostly just stuff you'd watch when theres nothing else to watch, not something you'd spend a montly fee on.

I've just got the UK trial the selection is ok nothing to scream about though (some classic oldies on there though!) i'm guessing the selection will start increasing rapidly soon (it's got a much better selection than LoveFilm got in the early days!)

Thank you, thats good to hear, its a good servise I just wanted to know if the content was the same here as it is in the US

This is the same impression I got, good but not great. With more quality movies/TV shows this is a definitly a servise I would pay for.
