Forums - Microsoft - Wow indeed

I haven't really bothered with any of the apps that have recently been added to the XBL, but a few days ago I've downloaded the new apps - YouTube, iPlayer, 4OD and 5OD(Which is pretty shit tbh). And I got to say - it freakin' rocks. 4OD in particular - got around to watching Misfits and Peep Show - both of which are available from season 1!

Great update, and I don't even have Sky Movies or LoveFilm package yet!

/endpraise :p

I have to say, I've been quite impressed with the apps. The Sky one already existed (and was already awesome).

I love the Youtube app. I was a bit dubious at first as Youtube apps are normally quite sucky (Have a Samsung TV with Smart Hub, the Youtube app frequently has connection issues, and worst input mechanisms I have ever seen. Not to mention the hash-dash UI used on the PS3 (web browser), and the suckish apps on mobiles). It works exceptionally well, and the UI fits in perfectly with the Xbox look, input isn't all that bad, either.

Haven't really played with much else. Aside from Phoneshop on 4oD (you really MUST watch this), and Have I Got News for You on BBC iPlayer, I don't really watch any British TV.

The best British show EVER was The Inbetweeners!!!

Yeah I knew the Sky one was around before - never did watch it though. Quite surprised the turn 360 has taken (no pun intended), it's a media machine indeed. And I can still play MW3 and Rage if I want to :3

It's also good to see that the youtube videos get bumped up in quality. Thats one of the things i dislike about my ps3 is that the videos are really pixelated on youtube that its not worth watching.

Only thing i don't like about the 360 ones is that from what i can see it doesn't remember things i typed in before.

^Mmm pretty much, and the search function is a bit of a bitch to use (Also lack of music videos) - I hear VEVO is coming as a separate special add on for it? Or is that a myth?

Hopefully they'll improve the apps already in place even further

VEVO Is Coming To Xbox 360!

Lots of gamers are music fans; lots of music fans are movie lovers; and lots of movie lovers are sports freaks. VEVO knows its viewers are pop culture zealots. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce VEVO’s 45,000 videos from more than 11,000 artists will be available on Xbox LIVE, the premium online entertainment service for Xbox 360, this holiday season.

This new app makes you the remote control! By using Kinect for Xbox 360 or voice search with Bing on Xbox, you can easily maneuver through a wealth of pop culture treats, including VEVO’s library of high definition music clips. Move from live concerts to Lady Gaga’s latest offering to your favorite television shows. It’s all there for you to discover.

Expanding our scale and reach through the launch of our first app on a gaming platform is a dynamic move making VEVO more interactive than we’ve ever been.

Watch this space for updates on app features and the launch date of VEVO on Xbox.

If you were from UK, they'd have pretty much every major entertainment channel on catch up, with the exception of Chavtv - ITV. Other than that, in UK there are considered 5 main channels - C4, C5, ITV, BBC1 & BBC2, 4 of which are now available, any time on 360.
