I never understood why people care how thin their TV is. Most TVs sold today are thin enough. Plus picture quality is king. Hell, I'd much rather have the Mitsubishi Laservue 75 inch TV than most thin LED on the market as it blows them away in terms of PQ. Same thing with tablets. Manufacturers brag at how thin and light their tablets are and the first thing people do when they buy them is stick them in a protective case doubling the thickness and weight. |
It makes the TV easier to move around, it allows you to hang it on the wall, it makes it easier to transport, and most importantly it saves a lot of room which is very attractive for someone that lives in a small apartment or wants a large screen in their bedroom. Which is quite commonplace in cities like New York and Los Angeles. It's a quality that people like in their TV and other electronics, but it obviously does not trump all other qualities, or lack there of, like you make it seem to be.
