Forums - Gaming - Sonic Generations - Did they seriously screw up something so simple?

I was just playing Sonic Generations on my PC and I noticed that when playing as 2D sonic, you cannot influence how high you jump. Even if you ever so slightly and quickly tap the "jump" button, Sonic goes flying up in the air with all of his might. Part of what makes platforming...platforming, is not just timing your jumps, but knowing how much you need to jump. Using retro Sonic is extremely aggravating because I can't make him do tiny jumps.

Is this on the PS3 and 360 as well? How could SEGA have overlooked something so intrinsic? :(

Are you using a keyboard?

You can very easily influence how high you jump on 360 and PS3. Their controllers have analog buttons which detect pressure. I imagine this may not be standardized on PC controllers or keyboards.

Hrmmm I am using a keyboard. I'll try connecting my 360 controller later and see if there's a difference!

lol ... yea connect a controller, "jump with all his might" .. lol. I imagined you havin to jump to a platform very close to your current platform and seinb Sonic jump to the top of the screen just to makd thag tiny jump.
