Forums - Gaming - Kindle Fire and Ipod Touch owners I need your advise.

I am planning to buy a Kindle Fire or an Ipod Touch and I would like help to know the pros and the cons of each device. I would like to know about this aspects:

1) Wich device you consider that is better for multimedia.

2) Wich device you consider that is better for playing games.

3) What do you like / don't like about this devices.

Ipod touch is smaller (at least the one we have here is) but it has all those features and more, but it has been out longer as well.

Also I think the touch is the same price, but could be wrong.


What about the games. Have you play games on any of them?

Can you transfer your documents like word or PDF files and view them without any problem?

Kindle Fire is good for reading books, watching movies and playing 'Some' games, as allot of games use a gyroscope as the Kindle Fire does not have one.  The lack of a gyroscope means motion controlled games will not work, as they only use the accelerometers.

Kindle also does not have a camera, MIC, or HDMI out.  My Xoom has an HDMI out meaning I can connect it to my 61 TV (as I do) and it turns my TV into a HUGE 61inch Tablet... mwhahahahahaha.... you might not think much about it until you connect a TV to it and just say.... DAMN....

ipod Touch is like a iPad but smaller, and that's a big NO, see if your going to use something for movies, games, books, your not going to want a small screen iPod Touch.  I have Droid, Droid X, Droid X2, Thunderbolt, Nexus, Xoom, Kindle Fire and take it from me you need to have a large screen, your eyes will thank you.

I would look into some other tablers before making a desicion anytime soon as cheap 4.0 tablets are coming out and CES is almost here with even cheaper tablets.

My Kindle Fire is great for what it does and that's books, movies, some games but for what your going to want, I would wait.

 

Also: Your Kindle Fire displays PDF documents natively with built in Adobe PDF reader allowing you to view the PDF without losing any of the original formatting. You can zoom in on PDFs by pinching to expand or compress the display. You can also magnify PDFs by viewing them in landscape mode. Not to mention all the freakin PDF/Excel apps on the market to boot.

If you are looking for an e-reader, get an e-ink device.

For everything else, get an iPod touch, there really is no competition there. It is vastly superior in all aspects to the Kindle Fire - which is more or less to tablets what netbooks are to real notebooks/laptops.

I already have an e-ink device, a Kindle Keyboard. The Ipod touch looks like a solid device, my only problem with it is the screen size.
