Forums - Gaming - Next Gen: Online Costs?

I think next gen the price for XBL is going to remain at $60 a year (took MS 10 years to raise the price of it) and the PS4 will have the absolute bare minimum being able to play online without any extras at all for free and have all the rest of the benefits be in PSN+ which will be $50-60 a year.

As for the Wii, I have no idea.

Around the Network

I'd be willing to pay around the same as this gen i.e. $60/year for Live.

I'm expecting Sony will charge for their service next gen. Possibly a two-tiered system like $30 for the basic service which is currently free and an additional $30 ($60 total) for Playstation Plus with all its discounts and early beta access and what-not. I don't see them leaving it free next gen and just having the optional PS Plus.

Wii U I don't give a crap about because I don't buy Nintendo consoles.

And no, the price for online won't affect my purchase, assuming it isn't a ridiculous difference like $100/year versus $40/year. But a smaller difference like $60/year versus $50/year wouldn't affect my decision.

No it will be free because it sucks and Nintendo doesn't care about online.
