^ Doesnt that seem weird , I could of sworn that USB flash drives automatically install their drivers upon connection...

A common issue Ive ran into is a comp not automatically assigning a drive number. Try going to going to drive manager and seeing if it appears there and if you can assign it a drive letter for the usb drive. You can also burning the drivers to a CD. If there is no cd drive and that does not work consider removing the laptop drive and connecting it to the PC.

Grab a long cable and hook it upto your laptop and the router to surf the web and download all of your laptops drivers. Your may not have all of your drivers installed onto the computer. Generally there are on the manufacturer website somewhere

o.o I can still access to the internet on my main desktop.

Also its my old desktop that doesnt work, how would I know which drivers to get? Should I just go to HP (thats the desktop I reformatted) and check the drivers for the particular model of the PC? Or do they have a universal drivers available

Yah basiclly. When you find the model and everything it should be there. Even if its reformated you still need the drivers for the motherboard ect. The network drivers and everything else should be there also
