The "Tales of" series DESTROYS Final Fantasy in my opinion. It is my favorite series of all time and I own all of the games except for 2 spinoff titles. I love Final Fantasy as well, Tales is just better.

I know soriku's a big fan of the Tales series, and Xenosaga was pretty awesome, but it's hard to compete with what many consider the glory days of RPG's with FFVI/VII and Chrono trigger.

Star Ocean fan so my choice is made.

Square hands down. The only Namco has on them would be a released JRPG.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Squeenix easily wins hands down over Namco, even if it is just a hallow shell compared to the former glory that was Square Soft.

Why pick Namco as competition though?  Intelligent Systems could give Squeenix a run for its money.  Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, and Paper Mario games are all excellent.

Baten Kaitos pwns too.

Ya for sure, Namco makes some great games, but when you add in the other square series like Dragon Quest, KH, <insert word> of mana in addition to FF, it seems to lean in favour of Square Enix....imo at least. In fact, Square Enix has been so good historically, it sort of makes their recent downturn that much more dissapointing.

Both companies were ruined by the merger sadly.  I liked Enix a lot before they merged,
