Forums - General - Iphone 4S or iOS 5 issues?

Anybody having iPhone 4S or iOS on other devices please comment

Just bought a iPhone 4S,its a White 64gb version

its music volume seems to be low.

I have had a 3GS in the past and its music volume was one of the best.it sounded like you had premium headphones

Also the battery seems to be draining but i have not tested it fully yet as in continuous use comparing to apple's recommendation of battery life

Please help with your experience

I have a 4S as well and don't worry I had the battery issue as well. Did you install the the latest update? That is suppose to help the battery a little. Also Apple is coming out with another update in a week or two that will help the battery further. The iPhone 4S battery life is going to be worse than the iPhone 4. I think the iPhone 4 get 300 hours standby while the iPhone 4S only gets 200 hours. In the 4S apple improved both the processor and camera but kept the battery the same. Since the new parts do require more power it is no surprise the battery life is worse. You will get use to it though. I usually just turn off the battery percentage tracker since i hate to see the numbers going down. As for the volume that might be a problem. The speakers on my 4S sound great. Either way if you don't have the latest update you should install that first.

Oh and to answer your question it is most likely an ios5 issue.

I actually got a 4S for christmas.

But its on back order so I wont get for another few days

mine came with the update.i have been tracking 5.1,apple keeps pushing it.

yours is black or white as blacks are supposed to have terrible battery issues

my speakers are great but headphone bass and volume seems to be low.also the heaphones just don't fit properly and keeps coming off.

my earlier 3GS had great bass and volume,it was almost like noise canceling.

if you have other apple products please check the audio

as for battery i am not talking about iphone 4 vs 4s comparision but apple's recommendation of 10 hours of  video and 9 hours of web browsing.

Make sure you don't have any lint stuck in the headphone jack, you might have something in there that is preventing your headphones connector to make physical contact with the jack while also pushing it out of the jack hole. This is a very common issue, use a regular sewing needle to remove anything in there and you should be good to go.

What is your exact version you're running on your iPhone?  Did you jailbreak?

Swipe down to bring up our notification center-- do you have notifications that are frakng out?

what exactly at you doing that is draining your battery? Battery life depends on A LOT of things. Is blue tooth on?  War is your brightness set at? What games at you playing?  Are they 3D or otherwise graphic intensive?  What are you watching videos from?  Are you using wifi or 3G?

What apps do you have running in the background?

Leo you have something like google maps running location services?

i am on 5.0.1

iphone 4s has not been jailbroken till now

whats 'frakng out'?

i have no bluetooth,no location services,no notification,brightness is medium with auto brightness on.I haven't been playing games.not using 3G.

listening to music istelf, videos alone drains out the battery.used wifi but as per apple recommendations wifi and video should do 10 hours.

i have kept apps open though, forget to close them.though they are music, settings, video, notes apps and in ios apps are as good as closed when on taskbar.

i just got my 4S for christmas and i don't have this problem, but i the sound sometimes gets really loud while typing. its only done it a couple times though.
