Forums - Sony - Playstation Vita Battery Life Test Results!

Compared to the psp 3000 how do these results fare? I found the psp 3000 to be particularly bad with battery life, especially while gaming...might have just been a very old psp or a warn out battery. I had it for a few weeks, took it with me to uni and my biggest issue was the feeling of not wanting to play it because i was scared i was gonna drain the battery (which is against the whole point of having a portable!). I hope the psv doesnt have such issues.

Based on those results though, id say 4.30 hours is respectable (if it was spent gaming).

With regards to the clip you have linked in the OP i dont think you should include that in the OP, its clearly not a true representation of things. Theres no way in hell a 3DS lasts only 2.30 hours. Even if it does, theres nothing to suggest that clip is credible so i dont see why its posted, its just gonna cause some sort of fanboy war in here -_-

Sounds like small improvement over PSP.

Seems better than my launch PSP, Probably because of no mechanical parts, would be a little interesting to see battery life using speakers, although i have to say who users the speakers on a handheld! Sound through headphones is always infinitely better, but each to there own.

I was honestly expecting 3 hours max playing games using headphones, so im really impressed with these numbers, sometimes being pessimistic pays off ;)

thats acceptable. not great, but good enough.

What does the iPad use? my iPad 2 seems to go on forever...

According to the Apple website, 10hrs of wifi web surfing or watching videos. (9hrs of web surfing on 3g)

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

In Apple's more recent products, they've had very good batteries, but I think they're a special kind of battery that's probably more expensive than what Nintendo or Sony use.

Stock configurations:

The PSP-3000 uses a 1200 mAh battery

The Vita uses a 2210 mAh battery

The DSi-XL uses a 1050 mAh battery

The 3DS uses a 1300 mAh battery

The iPad 2 uses a 6930 mAh battery

That is why the iPad 2 lasts so long, its got a monster battery. (if only the Vita had a 4420 mAh battery, it would cost more, but it would be worth it to me)

The only special "Tech" in apple batteries is a custom shape more fitted to interior of machine thefore packing a bit more capacity into same sized case .

I had more reason wait longer to buy Vita.
