Will the 3DS or Vita be king this gen.?

3DS (yes me putting it first has symbolism) 418 70.02%

Vita 110 18.43%

Even 14 2.35%

I do not know 18 3.02%

other 5 0.84%

see resultz 31 5.19%

Total:596

Epic... Just Epic.
When 3DS announced full spec and price, I had no doubt to buy it in the very first day. Nintendo really get my attention and interest for 3D glassless.
When Vita announced full spec I got my attention, but not my interest. Then Sony give us the price for Vita and "special" Memory, I better wait longer.
Don't get me wrong, I had DS and PSP. I bring my PSP anywhere In my bag to play game, watching movie, read comic, and music. For me Vita just like PS3 portable.

Oh I can imagine it and it is beautiful!

Actually with the 3DS we should have access to most of their old handheld games. I hope and wish for the Virtual boy line up. Maybe even some more Game Gear games Wonderswanb Jaguar,  other?

I was just wondering why????  Isn't the only good game on the VB Mario Tennis?  Perhaps there is another one or two decent games but I highly doubt there is more than 5.  I think I am going to have to buy a Virtual Boy at some point just so I can say I have it.  I should have gotten one when they were getting rid of them at the stores back in the day.  It was going for like $40 at the very end if I remember JC Penny Outlet price right.  I'll probably have to fork over a good hundred just to get the damn thing now in decent condition (definitely not buying it "new" from Amazon).

The weakest console don't always sells the most. Like

PS2 > Gamecube > Xbox > Dreamcast
Wii > Xbox 360 > PS3
DS > PSP
PS1 > Nintendo 64 > Saturn

SNES > Genesis

So 3DS > Vita wouldn't be much of a surprise.

Fixed. Well, almost,

you just happened TO FORGET that Xbox > Gamecube.

SERIOUSLY, this 'always' argument just embarrasses whoever makes it.

It's a pretty quick fix to make the argument work again for the big 4.
Sega always loses, The weakest console of the others [in the generation] always wins.

Also held true for NES > Master System.

Of course there are many other consoles people forget or don't know about... I imagine there are dozens of cheap 'consoles' even in this generation that no-one considers... but back in NES and SNES days there were still a few "significant others" If we ignore the tiddly little consoles (Casio PV1000) then there is only 1 consoles that disproves the bolded statement. The Turbografx-16 is supposedly from the 4th generation, and it's earlier release means it was probably technically inferior to the SNES.

Oh and the battle between XB and GC is irrellevent to the original statement, the Sega point stands of course (which is why I corrected) it was "the weakest console always sells the most"... the PS2 was the weakest of the gen apart from Sega DC, and it won.

Aye, as Basil Zero mentioned, only Assassin's Creed is a real loss. Saint's Row Drive By was never actually started, Megaman Legends 3 was a game Capcom was dragged kicking and screaming into even starting and canned at the first possible opportunity, the raft of Hudson games because the whole company was finally absorbed, and i had never even heard of some of those others

I remember when we were all certain that MGS3D was also cancelled XD

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I voted, but I shouldn't have. It's too early to tell right now. We need to give Vita some time to establish itself and get situated. Vita has announced some great games and we have to see what happens once those were released; as well Nintendo's upcoming games. I say after E3 next year then we'll have valid data to go by.

I voted 3DS though for some reason.

I think you are lying about your 3ds battery life.

My 3DS has not once dropped a bar and I've played it for 3.5 - 4 hours or so with 3D on and Wi-Fi on :)

Was it plugged into a wall?

Nope. Maybe mine's magical? That's what one guy told me when I said the touch screen doesn't scratch the 3D screen.

Because even though it has an unfair advantage as of right now it is ahead, and you picked it because it is the obvious choice at the moment. Even though in 6 months it may not be anymore.

Yeah, and you putting it up first psychologically coerced me to vote for it :)

Well, I think I voted for 3DS mainly for upcoming Dragon Quest and Pokémon.
