What does that mean? I think I've seen the movie Children of Men but can't remember anything about it.

Watch http://youtu.be/0A8__UZ_BQg - you'll notice there isn't a single cut in that scene, which is quite impressive.

Few cuts, the camera stays close to the character and therefore moves a lot - this style leads to a denser atmosphere. You feel like you're involved in what is happening and not just watching it.

Children of Men was so bad and that scene you posted looks laughably amateur. Obviously because it was uncut for so long, it's really hard to make it good if you don't use any cuts in action scenes like that. I love long scenes without many cuts but that was just overkill and makes it look amateur and not immersive.

I do think it's a sign of seriousness though to apply the principle of long uncut scenes into a cinematic game. Hopefully it works out.

That scene didnt look "laughably amateurish"....i thought it was quite intense and well done.

At least the scene you showed looked even more clumsy and improvised than that student made Half-Life movie or the Halo movie (dont remmeber who made the original small halo clip). And that is quite amateurish for a $100 million production.

As a comparison, the half life movie:

  • A linear least Uncharted game with elements of exploration.

"A linear least uncharted game" i wonder what that means?

I'd wager it means less linear, hence the elements of exploration. I think it's still going to be fairly linear though. If it was open-world, I'd think they'd be more confirming of it, instead of using the word 'elements' & 'linear least Uncharted'.

great. it's CGI. great dud. had to come and support you. i will play this game to death.

Frankly, for a game like this, I welcome linearity. I don't want to be taken too far off course with a story driven title, something Naughty Dog is good at. So, I would embrace a more linear path her (even though it will be more open than Uncharted).

Linearity would definately be good for the story, and since ND has been focusing on mentioning the story in press releases and interviews, id also bet that the game is poised to be a more linear game than the standard zombie/apocolyptic game.

Im just wondering if it's gonna be linear (or somewhat linear) then doesnt that conflict with the setting and the theme of survival?

Im really interested to see what they have come up with this game in terms of the core gameplay mechanics as well as the new story telling elements.

I guess we all set for a gameplay trailer next E3

I wasn't expecting it to be open-world either. I'm expecting it be linear with branching paths, semi-open level structure. I'm thinking about something like a Resident Evil 4 type world.
