I was surprised to see it at retail for 60 euros. Additionally I've not been given a pc port.
Colour me disappoint

It is on my to buy list as soon as I get a chance to go by my local game store again.
Although now you make me hesitate....
What is it good at?
Was the demo a good representation of the game? (I liked the demo)
What's wrong with local multiplayer? Or do you mean it's lacking online multiplayer?
| RolStoppable said: Probably not all that many of our VGC members, because it was kinda expected to be bargain bin material. But those of you who did buy it, what do you think of it? Do you regret buying it? It's an okay game that lacks in some areas like controls, level design, collision detection, multiplayer and rewards. |
Sounds like a great platformer!
OT: I didn't buy it.

I bought it. It's sitting in my bookshelf waiting for finals to end
It's rather expensive for what it offers! I'm sure who ever did buy it may have some regret.

I'm interested in it, but knowing Ubisoft I'm sure it's more about the graphics than the gameplay. Do you have the Wii version? Is it played with the Wiimote sideways or classic controller?
Castlevania Judgment FC: 1161 - 3389 - 1512
3DS Friend Code: 3480-2746-6289
Wii Friend Code: 4268-9719-1932-3069
I bought it. I change my preorder from ac4 to this because of the reviews and trailers and I can tell u this is best game I played this year better than uc3 which I loved
If u like platform games this is a must buy I think it is worth 60 bucks , it is long, great , gourgous and has really good sound track and great level design
I hope ubisoft releases dlc for this game but idoubt it because it didn't sell very well
I bought Rayman Origins Wii version at launch for $30 through Amazon.ca. It's an excellent two player game (more can join in, but 2 people is great). It's off beat and whimsical; but if you like platformers, you can't go wrong. Me and the 2 kids really enjoy it-- and that's coming from a son who is a big COD fan.
I bought it as a birthday gift for a friend, for 40€, because everybody was gushing about how good it is... Myself I am not really keen to play it. I think I am really spoiled by Mario platformers, I didn't even enjoy DKCR that much. To my surprise.
It must be the controls, if you're a person who thinks Mario games control perfectly, nothing else will satisfy you.

If you didn't buy it yet, I would advise you to wait until it drops in price, because it's not going to take long until then (if it hasn't dropped already). That's the fate of artsy games. As for your questions: Its best quality is probably that it isn't a Nintendo game. So if you despise Nintendo, there is a better chance that you will like this game. I honestly can't think of anything that this game does really well, but it isn't terrible either. It just feels average for the most part. I haven't played the demo, so I can only take a guess that it is a good representation of the first half of the game where the problems aren't as severe. Things can get really hectic in the latter half of the game and annoying when your character pulls off a move you didn't want him to. There's a lot of frustration involved and the plentiful checkpoints and infinite lives serve only as a band-aid for this problem. The problem with multiplayer is in the level design. By default, you need to forget about 20 % of the levels in this game, because they really are for a single player only. In the remaining levels you need to accept that you most likely won't be able to get everything, because quite a lot of stuff is timebased and the more players there are, the less likely it is that everyone moves at the same pace in those sections. The main goal of the game is to collect Electoons. Half of them are hidden in the levels, the other half is gathered by collecting a certain number of Lums (these can be timebased) or by doing speedruns. I am not sure on the required numbers of Electoons you need to reach by certain points of the game in order to play the next level, but I think it's possible that in multiplayer you need to go back to previous levels or play some singleplayer. |
Exactly how i felt about Sonic Colors :/
