If Nintendo ends up doing that they will have, to quote Full Metal Jacket, "signed their own death warrant."

Nintendo launched the 3DS for $100 more than the original DS and it had a lot of trouble at first. Launching the Wii U for anything more than $400 is just asking for the same situation (and even then 400 is pretty steep).

Don't pay attention to this, it's just some stores putting a placeholder to accept preorders.

Or, if you look at it the other way around, this stores are sure that the console won't cost more than those placeholders, so we guess that it will cost less than that.

It will -so- hurt Nintendo if that's the real price. Kids are probably the biggest gamers! How in the world are they, or anyone in this economy, going to afford that?!?! If thats the real price Gamestop better have a huge thing going on for trading in your Wii, say like 100$ off of the Wii U!

ah jeez, you guys are idiots. its a placeholder price, the last rumor was 500 dollars. You guys are falling for it every single time. The wii u isn't final, they haven't shown the final product, they haven't given it to retailers, what makes you think they know the price?

WiiFit had no problems with a 100$ price tag if I’m not mistaken about the price. I don’t think it would be a problem for U-pad with the right game sold with it.

I predict the same thing will happen with 720 and ps4 when stores start putting prices on them.
