Thats awsome! I can copy any HD movie, or just go remoteplay anywhere in the world and watch ps3 movies now!! Amazing, best handheld console connectivity ever created.

Wow! So you can watch your HD movies on an itty bitty screen that isn't in HD. Sweet! And all for the price of an expensive memory stick and a BD movie!

-edit- And just to pre-empt the hating, this isn't a bashing of Sony or the PSP, I just hate tiny movies.  Also, I coudl be wrong about this, but don't you lose the awesome HD-ness of BluRay when you shrink it down to PSP size?

Well, this does not prevent me from watching MY blu-ray movies on my nice HDTV using my sweet PS3.

But now I can also watch ALL of them on a boring flight too... it's a BONUS dude. A free bonus. How can this be bad?

PS: Also memory sticks are re-writable, but I guess you know that but you're still trying to find something negative on totally positive news...

I'm not saying it's bad, it's just silly to get worked up over it. Since I don't know a lot about this stuff I could be wrong, but don't you lose the HD quality when you shrink it to PSP sized video?

@twesterm

The psp can now be connected to a tv, basicly you have ur ps3 anywhere, and as long as there's wifi, connect it to tv and play it, ps3 is soon going to be the first portable nex gen console.

Sorry but no, doesn't work like that, if you play a a stored blu-ray movie from your PSP, the video is not going to be HD...

Edit: From the article

"The concept of copying a lower-resolution version of a film from a packaged media disc to a portable device is not new--in fact, late last year"

By me:

 Yes. Of course it will loose quality. It will go from 1080p (1940x1080) to the 480x272 to fir on PSP's screen but the good news if that you can actually DO IT.

This is not allowed from movies on DVD (legally, of course)... for some crappy copyright reeason. So, since I have both a PS3 and a PSP, I'm pretty happy to know that I can watch my favorite movies on my next plane flight (or whenever I'm bored somewhere).

 PS: The only problem is that I only have 3 blu-ray movies. Shitty BR vs HD-DV war... but now with Warner on board I will buy more Blu-ray movies... much more :)

 Correct, the video is converted to 480x272... still better than having to buy a crappy UMD movies, rofl. And it's free.

@FJ warez

Did I say that?

Its not going to be stored, it will be used via ps3's remote play.
