What is this xenoblade and when did it come out?

Xenoblade Chronicles is an RPG created by Monolith (Baten Kaitos, Disaster DoC, Soma Bringer, Xenosaga; since 2007 a Nintendo 1st party), directed by Takahashi (FFVI, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears) and some of the music composed by Shimomura (Street Fighter II, Super Mario RPG, Kingdom Hearts).  These alone should justify a purchase of what I think is the best RPG of recent years.  I'm quite surprised you haven't heard of it; you should seriously look into it.

It was released in mid 2010 for Japan, August 2011 for Europe and Australia and is scheduled for a US release in early 2012.

Two completely different rpg's mate. One is a western and one is a japanesse rpg so the jrpg fanboys are going to pick xenoblade and the wrpg fanboys are going to pick skyrim simple as that. 

I voted xenoblade because I prefere jrpg's. Skyrim is still an amzing game.

But my vote goes to Xenoblade because it's without doubt the best RPG of this generation.
