Forums - Microsoft - Keighley: Alan Wake XBLA is “effectively” Alan Wake 2

VG247

Alan Wake’s debut on Xbox Live Arcade is more than you think, according to VGA boss and GameTrailers TV host Geoff Keighley, who’s said it’s “effectively” Alan Wake 2.

The digital title, rumoured to be subtitled Bright Falls, will debut at the Spike-hosted awards this weekend.

Keighley, speaking to Major Nelson on the subject of downloadable games, said it was an “ambitious” effort from Remedy.

“I’ve seen the game, seen the trailer we’re showing and even though it’s going to be a downloadable game, it’s not a small game,” said Keighley.

“It effectively is, I think, Alan Wake 2 when you really look at it and what they’re doing with that game. It’s really ambitious, beautiful technology and I think people are really going to be excited about it.”

The game will be, according to Remedy, “structured” as if it was a full retail release.

The VGAs happen this Saturday.

Nice, can't wait!

omg this is so good to hear! :D <3

'Spose I should finish the first one then.

Hell F**cking yes.

Yes
Yes
Yes.

Only game to beat AW for me this gen is skyrim.
I wonder if this new AW will take the crown back.

I like the sound of new technology. The first easily had the potential to be best graphics if only for the sandbox influence costing resources. Rumours were from Remedy after AW1 that confining the engine would free up 30% more power, and that they would implment that on the next title.

Cmon Remedy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That picture makes me feel all warm inside :D

I'm so happy they're making this :)

I'm suddenly excited again!

I take everything he says with HUGE AS F*CK GRAIN OF SALT ;)

sounds so promising.

I guess ill try to get in to this again if its 20 bucks...

I felt that part 1 was trying to present a "ham sandwich"-like action game play as a "filet mignon" survival horror gaming experience. It didn't really work for me.
