I have no idea what a "mod" is, some one is writing crap.

Sony will not have this game released till they are totally satisfied with it. A lot is riding on this game since Sony needs to establish a new true flag ship franchise to go with MGS, GT and FF.
The longer it spends in development, the better it will be. (or should be)
Personally, I cannot wait for this game
I don't know how Japan would respond to a game concept like LBP, but I do think they would love the cutesy art-style. If marketed well, this game could generate some hype for the PS3 in the homeland. Gaining some momentum there is incredibly important for Sony, so they really need to make sure this game is great.
My Top 5:
Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger
My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3
and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

I agree, the visual style of the game will definitely appeal to the Japanese market. The question is whether or not the gameplay will be enough to sustain their interest.
