May as well ban Pepsi and Pringles as well. They're unnecessary.

As long as it's farmed according to animal welfare standards I'd eat pretty much any thing(including cats and dogs).

I don't know.  I think that venison is pretty yummy.

I've had horse meat once (my parents didn't tell me until after we were done eating it, they're bright people). It was okay, I still prefer beef or pork. I'm not opposed to it but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat some again.

Oh yeah I hate Canadian geese as well. We have them here in Southern Ontario. They are all over the university campus I go to and they shit everywhere its disgusting. I wish we could hunt them or at the very least relocate them somewhere far away. 

I don't know anyone that eats bear. Maybe the inuits way up north or something but nobody in Southern Canada. 

And somehow beef is more necessary?

I hope you realize if venison was banned, people would run into deer about three times as often as they already do in MN.

The law passage isn't about eating horse meat. Its about the US ban on slaughterhouses.

The US banned killing horses for humane reasons, which meant that they had to be shipped to Canada for euthanizing. It caused huge problems for the market. Rather than get a little bit of money out of aged horses for slaughtering, breeders were having to sell their horses for $1 to people willing to take them to Canada. It ended up hurting the horses (due to age at time of transport), and destroying a small industry.

Would I eat horse meat? Probably not. But I am all for those that do or find utility in them.

Yeah Beef, Chicken, Lamb and Pork are fine, I believe we need meat and it's important to our diet. Eating Venison ect, is just doing so for the fact it taste nice, we already have enough alternatives.

I agree it is eaten because it tastes nice.  But it still comes back to the problem of too many deer in MN.  How do you suggest getting rid of them if we can't shoot them and eat them?  If a hunting season was cancelled altogether, deer related insurance claims would likely fly through the roof.  There are times where they will even have an extra weekend for hunting in certain areas of MN because the deer are such an issue.
