What I don't completely understand is why these shoppers don't travel to less populated areas to ensure they get the stuff they want. I don't know about all the states but I saw video from Seattle where the shoppers numbered in the thousands to tens of thousands. I went to Bellingham a 30-45 minute drive from my house and only about an hour fourty five out of Seattle and their were only like two thousand people around Best Buy at best.
People from Canada travel hours to go to the US to shop on Black Friday. The ones in these videos camp out just to get that little edge, why not simply travel to a smaller populated town so you face less competition?
Surely within a three hour driving range of every major city in the US there must be a smaller city or town where you would face much smaller crowds? I don't know why people would go through the above when they should be able to find those deals with far less competition just by driving a short distance away.
If Canadians are willing to drive up to 6 or so hours to cash in on deals (Yes I heard of someone who did) then why wouldn't an American drive to a smaller populated area to get their deals? Also those willing to camp out up to a day or two , why not just drive a little further and get your deals way easier.
I guess gas money could be an issue but you'd face far smaller competition and a larger chance of getting those deals.
