Listen as I said, if you want Eurogamer go to Eurogamer. If you want my interpretation and my article and thread visit it on VGChartz. Considering your a writer here I'd think you would know this stuff before me anyways, considering your actually employed to report the news and I am just doing it for fun while I wait for my next job or the launch of my own site. Anyways your a writer, you know nobody reads articles that lack any speculation. Look at all the gaming news 80% of its is interpretation. Every interview every news article it is all interpretation. In fact Eurogamers source is intepretation. You gotta get used to it, I'm sure more then half your articles you write are also interpretation of news. |
blah blah blah blah I don't care. You think highly of yourself, we get it. I wasn't commenting on your content, just the fact it's there and not the original source. And you're absoloutely right, not everyone thinks highly of my opinion, that's why I don't make it my OP. So people can skip it. Take a look up though, I don't see much support
And I don't write news articles, and I don't do speculation.
Who is this "Sony" guy? He sure does talk a lot.
Hey, I find Joel's posting style just as odd as the next guy, but he's right this time. He clearly found an interesting article and created a thread with the intent to give his opinion (or interpretation or whatever) on the article with the source clearly linked at the bottom. He gave people the oppurtunity to read the exact article and to read his interpretation of it, though there's probably little people that really care about the small differences between the two, considering they both give the same core points. There is nothing wrong with what he did. Threads created with the purpose of giving opinions & interpretations are destined to appear on any open forum. If people are too lazy to click the link for the exact word-for-word source, then that's their own problem.
For future reference Joel, maybe you should place a disclaimer at the top of your post that reads "This post is my opinion on the article linked below." That should clear up any problems.
Lol, Joel, you should be thanking Seece for this one. I got about halfway through that jumble of shit and started to scroll down to see what people were talking about. Cool story bro about Google Financial and your local paper, the OP is a mess.
OT, I'm guessing that Sony is going to be stuck in at least a somewhat undesirable position because I think MS will release Nextbox before them one way or another.
I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

lol I don't think highly of myself I just have some self respect and defend my actions. I do pride myself on journalistic integrity but really its not that I think highly of myself at all. I just don't think to highly of some other people like Pachter and in some cases other individuals. The fact that I disagree doesn't make me high and mighty or full of myself. Plus it was you who suggested that you could get me banned at any time because you were staff. That sounds a lot more high and mighty than anything I have said or done, look I can have a different opinion then you, I can write different then you. Doesn't make me any worse then you or really you any worse then me.
I look up and I only see a couple posts supporting your view. I also don't have that much traditional support on the Sony board so I really am not shocked.
P.S since you are classified as a writer I just assumed you were a writer. Reporting the news is something writers do on news based websites like VGChartz. I actually haven't read what you write I just assumed you actually did report news, if you don't what purpose do you actually have at VGChartz? Not trying to insult you but I am confused how someone can be called a writer and not post news or include personal speculation or opinion in articles?
Looking at some of your other threads it is sorta weird that you don't actually have a writing style. As I said people don't read threads on VGChartz to hear the news from Eurogamer. They read it to get the opinions of the community to get the perspective of VGChartz. If everyone here just posted a link to the source or plagiarized the source material why bother coming to VGChartz at all?
| NiKKoM said: I'm with Seece on this one! You're just trying to hard Joelcool, take a break.. you are at a point where people are clicking on your threads and think.. "damn it's from Joelcool, I'm skipping this one" |
Yah I see your point. However your point sort of contradicts what Seece said. Seece said not to write an OP at all just give the direct source material. Fact is people aren't reading Seece's threads or material because it is Seece, they really don't give a crap about what Seece is saying.
My threads people do still read them. Yes they say "Damn its from JoelCool, I'm skipping most of this one" They skim they go to see what others are saying and comment. That really is no different then what Seece does, people see the topic they discuss the topic. Only thing is with my threads their is more for users to see and read.
I really don't mind many saying "Oh no wall of words" because they still get something out of the thread. They contribute to the discussion and make the thread successful. But the few or growing number of users who actually do read the threads get more out of them then say a direct qoute.
I may be working hard, mainly because I hate not reporting. I see the need to report and I write as if they are reporting articles in say the news paper I wrote for. That might be a turn off to some but some like it, either way its not like people actually skip the topics altogether because I post them. My topics all get the views that any other topic would get they get the responses that any other users topic would get. So I don't see it as an issue, just that I have some users who like what I report but don't want to read my wall of words and others that like what I report and do want to read my wall of words.

I'm just asking you to be considerate to other people, at the least you could at least post the content in the next post.

I try to be considerate that is why I have included the source to begin with. In the past prior to this year I rarely ever provided a source, I used to create topics based on press releases and personal convo's. But I changed that as well as many other aspects of how I create threads taking constructive critisism into consideration.
Look my own writing style isn't going to change. I try to make the articles shorter and I try to write as considerate as possible. But I am not going to change what makes me , me. You may not like me and some other users don't either but their are people who do adn it wouldn't benefit me at all to completely change what some people like.
Also again I have tried to be considerate you and I just don't seem to get a long. As for your comment about getting me banned I can qoute it "I'll have you banned for that
" Look based on things you have said and coupled with comments like that it is clearly a threat. I don't see any other users saying "I'll have you banned for that" its one thing to say comments like that will get you banned or a mod might ban you for that. But you specifically said "I'll have you". That is pretty high and mighty of a statement if your going to call me out for being high and mighty I will obviously call you out.
As for you writing I am aware of VGChartz. Not your specific position but reporting any of the facts you stated are still reporting. A writer writing any of those jobs should be a writer. Either way you report news I don't know how you think writing on a website is not reporting.
Anyways as I said I am taking every peice of critisicm into consideration. Including yours, I also try my best to be considerate but as I said their is only so much I will do.
Anyways I notice we are going off topic, do you have anything to actually say about the topic? If you wish to continue the talk above, PM me or write on my wall. I would be glad to continue maturely talking about the subject outside of this topic. Derailing threads isn't something I like to do.

Like Superchunk said, the PS4 will be here by Nov. 2013. By now it may be too late to accelerate R&D and meet the Wii U launch, plus, Sony may be more willing to go directly up against MS than Nintendo. Sony waiting until 2014 wouldn't be undesirable, but it would make hings a lot harder, especially if the Wii U, and Nextbox take off.

I expect a 3DS vs VIta kind of launch. Sony will be the last the announced their supercomputer console.
