Saints Row the third is a fun game. If you play the game, then you know it's not trying to be any more then that. It's certainly not the best looking game and I've come across the normal open world glitches, but the setting and the fun factor makes me want to keep playing it. So,what do you think?

I think it is an dissapointment compared to 2 but overall it is an fun game where you probably spend around 25 hours in to complete (30 hours for achievements) and will have whole the time fun :).

I'm a little let down by it. Yeah, it's a lot of fun but something is off.

-I can't hear the music in a car when I stand outside of it (a cool feature in Saints 1)--it even sounded muffled.

-No standout songs, yet. I downloaded a ton of songs from SR2 as soon as I heard them--and they're STILL in heavy rotation!

-A lot, and I mean A LOT, of the humor falls flat. They try to be outrageous but it's not working. SR2 made it feel natural. SR3 seems to be trying to force it.

-The outdated gang culture isn't as appealing as it used to be for me. GTA San Andreas did it more authentically. SR1 did it more grittily. SR2 did it with more flare.

-They rely on "Horde Mode" waaaaaaay too much. The computer AI is dumb as a rock and cheap so the horde mode style missions suck......hard. And your AI assistants are shit, too. You need someone to ride with you but they won't get into the car. Sometimes, they just stand there in a gunfight and let the enemy kill them. Then, you have to run back into a gunfight that you barely escaped to revive them and hope they try to follow you instead of just standing there.

-No "Burger Shot" (aka Freckle Bitches) in the game. It used to be like health packs. Now, it's just Halo auto regen.

-Glitches, glitches, glitches! Open world games always have glitches but goddam, SR2! Tone it down a little bit.

-No interesting enemies at all, so far for me. That crazy mullet guy, that Yakuza gang, and that Ultor business guy from SR2 were so awesome, last time. This wrestler gang, that "Tron" gang, and that mafia gang aren't very interesting to me, yet.

I've mostly been fucking around in the game, though. I probably logged in about four hours and I gotta admit, I'm having fun. I'll hold my final opinion until I finish it but SR2 seems to have it beat. This one is more graphic (especially in the tits/dildo department) but it really feels like a step down.

Sure I could cherry pick the game, but I'm having to much fun with the game 2 do that. The rocky 4 song,is stands out to me. The your the best song also stands out to me. The whole the mix station stands out to me,to be honest. I don't know how far your into the game, but I've thought there were several laugh out moments in the game. I can't speak for SR2,because I only played the first part of that game, when it came out.

^^^I just finished the Proffesor Genki mission last night. Didn't laugh once. I'm still having fun and it was a great purchase but I'm not in love with the game yet.

Driving is awesome. Melee is awesome. Character customization is pretty good (I expected more, though--SR2 was deeper). Upgrading is fun. Gang fighting is terrible. I can't wait to get home to play it but at the same time.....I don't know. It's a love/hate thing right now.

Thanks, I was wondering on whether to get Saint's Row the Third but I think i'll hold off until I can get it cheaper.

Why I think SR2 is better:

When SR2 was released it blew away fans of the first one because it was bigger,  their was a lot more stuff to do, their were a lot of new weapons/character customization etc...So the hype for SRTT was huge especially because the game took longer to make than the second one ...it could only be bigger and their should be a ton to do right?   ....sadly no..

- Their are almost no buildings to enter,  winkelcentra and cave kind of buildings/places are not their to find in SRTT, Gas stations and food stores are gone...So getting drunk or eat food dissapeared...(Driving drunk or stoned was kind of fun).

-  Music stores are also gone, you have all the music from the start while in SR2 you still could buy some and find some (not that big of a deal still collecting the cd's was a nice side activity)..

- A lot of activities dissapeared,  Ambulance/Firefighter/police activity are gone, Fuzz, sceptic avenger, bodyguard missions, Racing!, boatracing and a lot more stuff dissapeared..

-Activities are only one level while in SR 2 every activity were 6 levels....56 acitivity levels in SRTT while their are around 180 levels in SR2?

-Fighting over terrority is gone (strongholds)  I quite enjoyed doing them but now they are replaced with gang activities :s

- Graffity is gone....Well they are replaced with collectibles who don't really do shit except giving your money..

- I finished the game in 15 hours but spend 30 hours into it for getting all the achievements (and then you did everything in the game).. while I finished SR 2 in 40 hours and to get everything in the game (not achievements though) I spended 75 hours...  And that is quite a gap...   As SR gan I would give this game a 7 but if I should watch it as an Neutral gamer I would give it an 8.5 because the +25 hours you probably gonna spend into the game will be fun it is just dissapointing for the SR fan...

I only played the first part of SR2,so SR3 is the first game in the series that i've really gotten into. Your post makes me want to buy the second game. lol

I agree. I'm only about half way through it, but it's looking like it'll beat out Uncharted 3 to be my GOTY.

You can get it for free if you bought if on PS3 (SR2).(saw that you had some PS3 games).
