If I read right, the PS4 cpu is running an x86 processor, which in the cpu world means 32-bit based processor, not 64 bit. Can I get some clarification there?

X86_64... so 64bits support too... and you know the 32bits processors can't address more than 4GB RAM... PS4 have 8GB unified (so the CPU needs to see the 8GB).

Ok thanks for the clarification. It seemed odd they'd be using such old architecture with so many other bells and whistles.

GAF is saying the PS4's GPU seems like a preview of GCN2 too.

"Well, it might be just EGCN (Enhanced GCN), but the diagram clearly shows 8 compute pipelines with 8 user-level queues, which is what GCN 2.0 is all about (less data waiting in line to be processed)."

I think its 7XXX aka GCN. That's even what members on GAF and I think B3D are saying.

I didn't realize but when you replied that the members in GAF opened this new thread.

Rumor: PS4 GPU based on AMD's GCN 2.0 architecture?

Guys... more about the GCN 2.0 theory.

With all the info Sony and AMD is freely giving away, I'd think they would have touted it was GCN2 by now.

New rumor.... PS4 overpower.

The AMD CPU present in first devkits has been underclocked at 1.6 GHz... in the final machine the CPU will run 2 GHz.... I think this can be true.

consumer Jaguar tops out at 1.6 so I guess it makes sense too use that speed with early hardware.

Are there any consumer Jaguar version out? I guess it will be released in Q3 or Q4 2013.

Bluefalcon posted this earlier for a custome Jaguar CPU that will probably be in both PS4 and Xbox3.

Commenters say AMD listed it as a 1.8ghz

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

sorry looks like I got that wrong aparently AMD have Jaguar clocked over 1.8GHz at least in the lab. Bobcat was 1.6/1.7GHz not sure where I got that 1.6GHz number from.

But anyway we should see Jaguar soon, they are expected to unvail Kabini and Temash at CeBIT 2013 which is on the 5th of March. Now when actual devices will ship is another question but I wouldn't expect them to be too far off.
