Success does that to companies..I mean look at Nintendo :) "what's wrong with you" "not the same game not the same content" etc etc
Good lessons for all going into next gen
Sony will have to get a lot of things wrong to be in the situation wiiu is in...hopefully they won't

Oh, no doubt Nintendo suffered from that as well! Not as much as Sony though, so the real question is; when will MS suffer from it? ^^
Sometimes I wonder if not Nintendo's 1st party games are causing them quite some troubles for themselves; if they weren't as successful as they are they'd NEED 3rd parties in the same way as Sony and MS, and I'd be happier ^^ and also sadder =(
And looking at the Vita, Sony didn't learn anything from PS3, and one has to ask; will they learn from the Vita?

You are looking at only a limited amount of things if you think sony didn't learn anything for vita...they did. Dev friendly hardware, new unique IPs etc. It has other factors working against it. Extremely strong competition (not an issue with wiiu at the moment for the PS4), horrible momentum going into the new gen with the psp (not an issue, PS3 is doing fantastic, support and sales), losing the biggest game psp had (MH).
PS4 is in a very very different stage and situation. The only things sony can mess up would be doing an expensive controller in the hopes of casual markets will love it..high risk high reward but as wiiu shows...doesn't always go as planned (hence the major revisions to their forecasts) The other would be anti user stuff like anti used games promotion...I don't think they will have any problems with the games, which is an issue wiiu has and despite all the nintendo PR they have not learned a thing from the wii days. PS4/720 will without a doubt have great third party support, especially if the rumors are true and they are similar in power range. Sony first party developers have been working on unannounced games for years now. For example SSM has a game that has been in the works since 2010 (by stig, the guy behind GOW3). At least on paper, Sony has done a much better job with this launch compared to their older ones, preparing first party support. Next few months will show if this is true or not obviously

Oh man, I didn't mean to get into a discussion about this... No matter how you look at it, Sony messed up Vita, showing us that they still makes mistakes.
And afaik, they're copying Wii U's controller - so better brace yourself!! But I agree that at the moment, Sony will have a much better launch of PS4 than PS3/Vita; just how good remains to be seen.

Sure, they definitely did and I gave you the reasons. I also gave you the reasons why they are in a much different position with the home console market. You seem to have nothing to back up your notion other than wishful thinking to be perfectly frank. Can they mess up? most certainly and I gave you what I think those areas could be.
and there is no 'afaik' lol We had at least three rumors. 1. Break away move controller 2. Rear touch and Biometric rumor 3. touch screen and bio metric
now people conveniently forget SEGA dreamcast controller...that had a screen too. A touch screen doesn't have to mean a large pad like design of the wiiu. It could be a small screen to display simple info like biometric readings. You are basing this they are copying the wiiu controller on..again...wishful thinking :)
I sincerely hope they won't go for a pad design..I see no appeal in it and I would like to see three unique systems in the market. As for the quality of the games...well duh :P we will have to wait until they gets released to truly know now won't we. But we should get an idea of appeal and production quality through the reveal event, GDC, E3, GC and TGS.
