You are looking at only a limited amount of things if you think sony didn't learn anything for vita...they did. Dev friendly hardware, new unique IPs etc. It has other factors working against it. Extremely strong competition (not an issue with wiiu at the moment for the PS4), horrible momentum going into the new gen with the psp (not an issue, PS3 is doing fantastic, support and sales), losing the biggest game psp had (MH). PS4 is in a very very different stage and situation. The only things sony can mess up would be doing an expensive controller in the hopes of casual markets will love it..high risk high reward but as wiiu shows...doesn't always go as planned (hence the major revisions to their forecasts) The other would be anti user stuff like anti used games promotion...I don't think they will have any problems with the games, which is an issue wiiu has and despite all the nintendo PR they have not learned a thing from the wii days. PS4/720 will without a doubt have great third party support, especially if the rumors are true and they are similar in power range. Sony first party developers have been working on unannounced games for years now. For example SSM has a game that has been in the works since 2010 (by stig, the guy behind GOW3). At least on paper, Sony has done a much better job with this launch compared to their older ones, preparing first party support. Next few months will show if this is true or not obviously |
Oh man, I didn't mean to get into a discussion about this... No matter how you look at it, Sony messed up Vita, showing us that they still makes mistakes.
And afaik, they're copying Wii U's controller - so better brace yourself!! But I agree that at the moment, Sony will have a much better launch of PS4 than PS3/Vita; just how good remains to be seen.

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
