Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii U vs PS4 vs Xbox One FULL SPECS (January 24, 2014)

Huh?

Why does Sony want a dual camera in its console? Something to compete with Kinect?

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

That's in line with what I expect from the final Orbis.

So what do you think, jaguar or bulldozer in the final build? And what is the GPU, the R10?

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Jaguar of course... R10 if you mean HD 7xxx but I think Sony will use a customized HD 8xxx (anyway there is no much difference in performance between HD 7xxx and HD 8xxx... or is there?).

Now I hope Sony change the memory size... 6GB is better than 4GB... or 8GB will be amazing... 4GB is just fine.

nextbox retail unit's rumored memory size is wrong, rumored based final retail specs on the devkit which is running 8gb ddr3, the devkit has additional memory for functionality purposes, sdk and compiler targets don't allow addressing the memory beyond 3.6gb for none-core software.

Not saying more than that.

I knew you couldn't stay away ^^ :D

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

the wii u is doing pretty bad so far besides the decent launch sales. I was thinking about it though, and Nintendo never launches before the competition until now. I'm not gonna pass judgement on it until the competition launches. Nintendo is gonna have a lot to prove next christmas season. If things don't get a lot better in late 2013, then it's over. I think the vita has already passed this point, it's only a matter of how bad it is gonna flop at this point. It is gonna be really bad, or just kinda bad.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Maybe you can't say more, but since you've only said that the amount of RAM is wrong, we could think that the kind of RAM is right...

(Or maybe I'm going to far with my assumptions )

Sea Islands it's self is a slightly modified version of Southern Islands. Whatever custom chip that AMD have cooked up for Sony bassed on VLIW5 will likely incorperate some of the same improvements they were working on for Sea Islands. I would imagine anyway. If they go for unified GDDR5 there is no way they could go past 4GB, I mean 4GB GDDR5 is already 16 chips, unless they are really going for 3D stacking that is already pushing the limit. GDDR5 is half the density of DDR3 and costs more per chip if I'm not mistaken as well.

I'm just stating about the only thing i can without breaking my NDA, i didn't state that it was wrong by a little, or a lot, or what type, on purpose, of course the SDK limitations can and probably will change with each future revision, so even i could be wrong if Microsoft see fit to change things last minute - truth is until the production line is setup and the big red button pressed, there's no telling what the final console will be like, once that button is pressed however it's curtains, either they change the hardware in minor ways or leave it as is, it's the no turning back point where changing major aspects would cost them the console race and a few billion dollars.
