I read reviews every once in awhile but I don't let review scores bother me much anymore. Especially, this generation with reviewers slamming Wii games with harsher scores than most of them deserved. I wait for Nintendo to release a game and I know without even looking into the game that I will enjoy the game. Such as MK7. I read a few play responses from VGC staff and looked at a few videos. That is about all I need to know if that. I honestly could have just not looked into at all and go to the store when it was released. Same can be said of CoD, Halo, FF, etc.. fans. They will buy the game regardless of what some reviewer ends up scoring the game.

Basically, there is probably only one reviewer in the entire industry that is worth a damn.  That is Seanbaby at EGM.  I don't even like EGM anymore and didn't really ever like it.  However, when I had a free subscription I would basically find his section the only thing worth my time in EGM.  I even sent EGM a message saying their magazine will probably stop sometime soon and they better give Seanbaby a pay raise.  Oh yea, I also like AVGN.

@OP, the person who reviewed the Zelda game was the same one for MW3??? If not your whole argument falls apart. Its really strange that grown folks cannot grasp the concept of "multiple reviewers". IGN does not review games, 1up cant review games, because those are not people. IGN is not one person, so getting mad at the site because ONE of their DOZEN or so reviewers gave a score you did not like is immature IMHO. By that logic we would all never visit sites or read magazines.
Now a better question would be if you would stop reading a specific reviewers score or not take it too seriously. IE I look at Tim Turi's reviews and i think he overexagerates some negative aspects of games, but hell Im not gonna stop reading GI just cause of one guy

When it all comes  down to it though the review needs to be accepted and edited by the staff at ign.Take this site for example: the review is sent to the staff site for editing and review, then after the embargo is lifted it can be posted. basically like that)

So with all that said, if ign as a whole were to allow a review to be posted even though it was crazy I would be mad. Leave? I could not say for sure.

You are saying if a reviewer were to give skyrim a 5 out of 10 just because for some reason he did not like you would just stop reading his reviews? Even if everyother site gave it a 9 or higher? Ign as a site would be crazy to allow something like that.

@@ modern warfare 3 wii thread.

since it was for the wii his boss did not care if he gave that game a 4.5.

} wass going to buy the game then I changed my mind. Well Nintendo you can say a big thank you to ign, since because of them i am picking it up for sure now to see how wrong they are!

Pardon my writing,it is worse than usual because i am on my phone. i will edited it later.

the editor's job is to make sure that what is wrtten is coherent and makes sense.  Their not supposed dictate scores and content, thats not journalism, it sounds like what your suggesting is that editors should stifle reviewers?? Does that make sense to you?? That sounds like crap they pull in communist and dictator countries.

Really man?? You really believe their is a guy who is writing a review, drinking scotch and saying "Muhahahahaha, I cant wait to see what spurgeonryan says about this, that guy is lame!" You honestly believe that these reviewers have a personal vendetta?? They dont even know us.

IGN "allows" review because last i checked they were based in a democratic country that has something called freedom of peace and they trust that their reviewers will write what they think is best.

What i find funny is that you dont even get on the perfect 10 reviews??? Why is that. You're no better than the 1up guy.  Has it accorded that the perfect 10 guys are giving it this score because of bias for the series or they are just too chickenshit to give a score they really want and dont angry responses?! Actually you might be worst at least these guys PLAYED the game that you claim shouldnt get anything less than an A

I do not believe that they will care what I say. From what I have noticed on IGN they usually remove post that they do not like. It does not matter though. I will buy it and play it for myself. So I can honestly know that they are wrong. If I find that the game is horrible I will go to your wall and tell you.

As for the editors I was mainly saying that there has to be someone who reviews what the review is saying. What if IGN had some guy who had enough and just said whatever he wanted before he was fired?

Did you see the title of my thread? Would you...leave? It does not say, "I Ryan Spurgeon will never go to IGN again, because some Reviewer annoyed me.

Finally, for the perfect ten scores. I have no problem with those scores. But if you would like to give me an example I am sure you can make a pretty good case on it. Does Skyward deserve what it got? Should Uncharted 3 have been higher?

Lol! I think after losing this argument to you I will change my thread title to would you visit a site less after a bad review.

Thanks for making it interesting for me. You are right on a lot of things, and I agree with you mostly.

I woulnt leave, cause its just one review and FYI. I dont think ANY game deserves a perfect ten thats just me.  I like to look at averages, i look at the reviews that are in the middle as they are usually the ones that make the most sense.  I think Zelda will be good, just like all the others and 7.5 is a strange but whatcha gonna do.

No, Im not bitch made like that. Not everyone is going to agree with your opinion, as long as they aren't trolling just for hits and bring up legitimate points, I'm fine with it.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Seeing as this is the only website I really come to my answer would be a definite "no"

And Vgchartz reviewers are very fair so I don't have to worry about it anyways.
