The first very low score: http://clickonline.com/games/review--halo-combat-evolved-anniversary/4260/

That's a pretty amerterish review.

Its odd that an improved version of classic game gets crapped on for not being improved enough. Yet straight ports of PS2 games are praised and given awards.

Reviews are not bad at all...but its freeking Halo:CE remake...who gives a crap what any reviewer says?

I can play the original halo game any time and have a blast, and this one has vastly improved graphics, sound and I'm sure other things we don't know about.

Apparently they're saying don't remake a game if you're going to ruin it in the process in some ways (hey, their words...not mine)

Eurogamer: "Instead of being teased into the new look, the original's artwork is too often just trampled over. The golden brown dust of Combat Evolved's world has been turned to burning white sand, while the dark expanses at the depths of the Forerunner architecture have been lit up and filled out with panels of electric-blue steel. There's still a sense of wonder here, but it's a more garish one than the melancholic fantasy conjured by Bungie.
And if at times Anniversary's new look is insensitive, at others it's just plain clumsy. Some of Bungie's visual cues have mysteriously not made the journey over to the remastered version, the flashing doors that signpost the way in Assault on the Control Room being absent in Anniversary's new mode. Cloaked elites, meanwhile, are hidden within the new detail and clutter, demanding that you often have to switch over to the classic visuals in order to progress."

___________

A remake does not always equal better than the original, not saying this remake isn't the better version since I haven't played it but that's what I get from reading some of the reviews.

Judging by that review it looks like reviewers are going to be very, very hard on Halo 4 because it's not Bungie. Also it sounds like they would have prefered if Halo CEA just got a HD upgrade instead of getting the full remake.

I've seen plenty of pics and videos showing the difference between the two and CEA looks so much better whilst Halo CE looks drab and plain. So what they are saying sounds just kind of stupid IMO.

This is a game reviews don't really matter on. We all know what it is, an exact remake with a fresh coat of paint and a robust addition of online features. For fans of the series thats more than enough and well worth $40 dollars, while people who are on the fence or aren't hardcore Halo fans will probably just pass it up or not be impressed.

than choose back to orignal, there is an option

the reviewer just complaining for no reason, there is almost opposite review between IGN and Eurogamer

It seems like the cool thing this year to give bogus reviews to games, AC:R is getting massacred too.

I think the reviewers had caught on that giving big titles one or two average reviews can result in a large amount of hits.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

I don't really get that some of you guys predicted like a high score. ..The original game and its gameplay feel outdated and let someone play it who never played a Halo before and he probably quit it because it is so boring. Just admit that this game is made for Halo fans who will buy it because they had some good memories with it. Anyway just got my copy let's see
