SCEJ announced the UMD Passport program -- a service that will let Japanese PSP owners register UMD games through a PSP app to secure discounts for repurchasing titles on the new console. The discounted games average between ¥500-1,000 (about $6 and $13, respectively) a pop, but can go for as high as ¥2,400. The UMD registration app hits the Japanese PlayStation store on December 6th, and Sony hopes to make the system compatible with roughly 200 titles

Do you think thats a fair offer? Personally I think 6-13 dollars is pretty good but 26 dollars is insane, but I'm guessing thats becasue of third parties and not so much Sony's choosing. It should also be noted that the Japanese pay more for games anyway so it should be lower elsewhere is Sony offer it.

Like PS2/one games one PS3, Nintendo Classics on Wii? They don't give them to you free if you already own them so I think this is a fair deal. They could have just done nothing like on PS3 and Wii.

Eveything should just be 5 bucks if you already have it.. the xxplained system in another article, you register games 1 buy 1 then pay foe them again discounted on Vita . they should treat it as a reDL fee another buy

They cannot be free - if they were you would download them and sell retail copy on ebay.

You can still do it but at least publisher gets something.

If I want to play my already purchased PS1 games on my PS3 I can do it without having to pay Sony again. People who have older PS3's can also play their already purchased PS2 games on their PS3's as well without having to pay Sony again. If I want to play my already purchased gamecube games on my Wii I don't have to pay Nintendo to get the game again.

My already purchased DS games, I can play them fine on my 3DS and I don't have to pay Nintendo one more time. I only have 3 Xbox 1 games, but I can play them fine on my 360 without having to pay MS again.

Funny that people comparing Sony charging for last gen vs Nintendo charging for last 2 or more gens.
