Battlefield 3 moved past Modern Warfare 2 to become the second most played game on Xbox Live last week.

DICE's shooter improved on its third place debut the week prior, but couldn't take down Call of Duty: Black Ops, which clings on at number one. With Modern Warfare 3 now out in the wild it seems unlikely Battlefield will be able to disrupt Call of Duty's perennial domination of the Xbox Live activity chart.

Bleak indie platformer Limbo returned to the top of the Xbox Live Arcade chart, followed by Dungeon Defenders and Pinball FX2.

Lol wow Halo Reach is dead!

I wonder how many people play a COD at any time, if 300k is the min I ever see on Black Ops on the PS3, I assume well over 1+ million at a min are playing at any time.

Too bad for BF3, it had two weeks to beat blops and failed, doubt EA is happy about this. MW3 will be in first next week for sure. MW3 is around 5mil total users now and was gaining 50k-75k an hour tonight when i was watching.

looking at the online player maps, COD has really grown in popularity overseas.

The reason why BF3 failed the launch week was the double XP weekend on black ops, the second week just has no excuse though.

Although I personally prefer the BF series, it's no brainer that COD is still considerably more popular than it.

The fact that you see Halo 3 hanging about #14th makes me go like wtf? >_>

I think with the release of Anniversary, the Reach numbers might go up, since the Anniversary multiplayer will pretty much be integrated into Reach multiplayer, with all the original maps that #1 had.
