The latest in the Assassin’s Creed franchise has yet to hit shelves, but that didn’t stopUbisoft from teasing the next entry during its earnings call today.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed a “major, full-fledged” Assassin’s Creed sequel is in development for release in 2012. It’s reportedly a major development, with details planned for sharing in the coming months.

The latest entry, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, is due for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 15, and on PC on November 29.

I believe they said awhile back that they planned to release Assassin's Creed III next year as, as they put it, it would be stupid to release a game after the modern-time it is base in (that time being the supposed 2012 apocalypse). So not much of a tease really, anyone who say the previous statement knows its coming.
