military academy schools. oh yeah.. that will teach those spoiled brats

Bad ideea for several reasons.

I think the good out weighs the bad. trained to be healthy, and lots of discipline and respect can go a long way.

It would also destroy their individuality and imagination, break their personalities, it would psychologically and physiologically traumatize them, and lead to them becomming mindless sheep. So the bad >>>>>> the good.

CPR, Ethics & Morality, Financial Education and Psychology should all be included imo, if they aren't already. I'd also like to see some extended History and Religion classes, as both can be powerful tools to get a better understanding of the world.

Some good replies. Respect for elders and others is pretty much missing in the western world. I would also like to say basic finance should be taught. I mean does not have to be deep investment scenarios but information about how credit works, credit cards, interest, mortgage and other loans.

This one person (a friend of a friend) said they buy most of their stuff using a credit card, which is fine. Than they said it is good because they only have to pay like $10 or so dollars a month (the minimum possible payment). I just didn't have any words to explain to them how freaking stupid of a practice that is when one has to pay 18% interest on credit cards.

I agree with general 'respect for others' part, but I disagree with the ideea that elders deserve any special form of respect.

Maybe a general ethics class would be ideal and I think that elders deserve some form of respect, but it depends on the situation.

No, just no. No one should be forced to take part in that.

I can't see something like a religion class being all too good for something like high school, and doing something like that would start such an uproar. I get the idea that you mean something like a general education in relation to history, though.

That's generally what military training implies. Has nothing to do with movies.

I have. I think it's an inappropriate environment for human beings.
